Street Fighter (DVD, 1998, Collector's Edition Widescreen)

There are good movies, and there are bad movies. Then there are those movies that are technically not all that well made, but every time you see them you can't help but smile. Street Fighter is one of those movies, and one of my top five funny action movies of all time.

Besides the utter hilarity of the flic, the dvd itself is actually packed full of extra material- there's director commentary and photo galleries of merchandise and so many other things. You almost never see that on little random movie like this and it's absolutely worth it. You will not be disappointed.

If you are a hardcore fan of the Streetfighter games then you may find something to complain about with regard to this movie, if only because you don't get a full backstory of the characters represented; barring that, however, there is little to complain about as there are exciting fight sequences and mayhem and the characters all pretty much correspond with their video game counterparts. Van Damme does a pretty good turn as Colonel Guile, as does Kylie Minogue as Cammy - for what little you see of her. The least fitting of all the actors is arguably the most talented of them all, as Raul Julia performs as M. Bison- Mr. Julia brings a subtlety to the character that fans may not necessarily agree with as he is not as cruel or as invincible as he is made out to be in the game, but Hollywood will take its liberties with just about anything so...there you have it.

Because this is a movie based on a videogame franchise, you'll have to allow certain elements in order to move the movie along, but overall, I found it to be a fun, action-packed film that was worth the time it took to watch it. I bought this movie because I had seen it when it first came out and remembered it to be entertaining; plus, having been a fan of the game series I had to check it out for myself to see if it could be as good as the later animated cartoons that preceded and followed it. In my opinion, it was- in some ways better because I prefer live action over animated presentations.

In short, I would recommend this as the perfect popcorn Saturday matinee movie for kids as well as adults. Enjoy!

Corny, watched it a long time ago, saw the game in a store recently, thought about watching it again. Very corny and very little fighting, in my opinion.

It was another great Van Damme movie. I have alot of Van Damme movies already.This,Street Fighter, was a good addition. I now have 24 Van Damme movies.I only buy DVDs now.

Has alot of action and a good story line. The actors picked in this movie are very good characters for these parts. They fit the description and character of these animated fighters, and fit the video game profile as well. I decided to buy this movie because it is one of my favorite action movies. I don't like alot of movies, and I don't like to watch t.v. so coming from a person that doesn't like movies, you can imagine that it is a good movie.

Good film about some of street fighters, not a lot of fight but all charaters are in the movie, i've buy it because when i was young i was a real fanatic of that video game, it was my favorite

The videos were perfict, but the shipping was rather over priced. Other then that I was satisfied with the product.

wasn't too bad of a movie. didn't quite follow the game so much. lots of good action in the movie especially bison. could've done better with the flow of the movie. what the movie needed was something like a sheng long or an akuma and turned into some sort of a tournament. but other than that i would be a good action movie to watch.

This movie is based on the video game Street Fighter. I am not a huge fan of the series, but I liked watching this movie. The main character is played by Jean Claude Van Damme. The movie is like 10 years old, so don't expect really good graphics, but I liked it.

The term B-movie dosen't say enough about this film. The writers utterly destroyed the original storylines to most of the Street Fighters in this movie, but somehow this movie is still so freaking entertaining! From Guile's French accent to Sagat being played by an American Indian actor to Dhalsim being a scientist and not even looking remotely like the Dhalsim from the games until the end of the film, this movie gets a 10 out of a 10 for entertainment. Not to mention this is one spiffy DVD; it is literally LOADED with special features. A MUST buy at any price.

I loved the movie but I didn't get to watch it. It wasn't in very good shape, but the person I bought it from took real good care of me and refunded me my money and I really appreciate that. I will continue getting all of my movies from this website it is so easy and fun.

it is a great movie my husband loves it, we bought because someome stole it from us,street fighter, showw lot of army toys to see that came out in the future

I was excited when I found this DVD here on eBay, I used to play the game all the time when I was younger and I remember watching the movie when it came out. The movie is cheesy, but still very good and entertaining. It came quick and in perfect condition and the price was reasonable. Overall it was a great experience and I recomend the DVD!!
