Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (PlayStation Portable, 2006)

If you're a fan of 2D fighting games on the go, then this is the game for you. The graphics are great and it's one of the best versions of any Street Fighter Game to date. My only complaint is that sometimes the Special moves are hard to pull off when things get frantic, but that's not really the fault of the game, it's the fault of the PSP controls. I've always been a fan of the Alpha Series of games in the Street Fighter Universe, and this version does a decent job of living up to the PS1 version of Street Fighter Alpha 3.

As a true fan of the fighting genre, I could honestly say I loved this game. Yes it's kind of hard to control without the PS2 controller that I'm used to playing with, but as far as the game goes it is flawless. There are more modes than you could count on both hands and maybe a foot or two. And fans of the Alpha series will be waiting to level up their favorite characters in World Tour mode. This mode really gives the game so much replay value.
I bought it for by brother in Iraq who's the biggest SF fan around. He recommends it for any soldiers with PSP's and says "it helps kill time on those long plane rides home."

This game looks great. The colors are brilliant on the psp screen. It delivers with content, sound effects, graphics and a very large cast of characters. However, I can't recommend buying this game. The controls suck! How bad are the controls? HORRIBLE, to the point of psp breaking frustration. Forget about executing your moves effectively or at all, while the computer tears you apart. It kills me when a game looks this great and have the controls ruin it. For example, anti air moves that use the dragon punch motion are problematic. Also, double fireball motion for most of the supers cannot be done effectively. Oh, and forget about using the Control pad (D-pad). You must have noticed the psp does not have diagonals, so moves that require them are awkard at best. You cant even jump forward properly using this control pad.

You can assign special moves to different button to help, but 1. it feels like you are cheating, 2. it ruins the gameplay. It reduces the gameplay to mere one button pushing specials until you get a KO. It does not compensate for the controls.


***Do not change your control stick to a larger one for this game. It will likely damage the joystick mechanism, rendering it useless. Something about the extra torque!

Very nice game. The best of all Steet Fighters consoles games. I very happy with my purchase. Grafichs, sound, colors, all fighters of the PSX and 4 new chalengers. Excellent!!!

the most powerfull tool when you can to kick some ass. warning, it is very addictive game

I have always liked the Street fighter games and this portable version is great for the psp! one of the best alpha series of street fighter!

the game is very good, the team matches are cool, the graphics are very good, it has many modes you can play

I just bought the game because of the low price,and my son wanted more games for his psp, too my surprise is was brand new , never opened , when i received it i just had to back check the auction to make sure the seller did not made a mistake.... now i know where to get my games from.

excellent game, large choice of characters. i bought this item because i had previously played it and like it. i think is an excellent game and anyone would enjoy.

i bought this game new, this have a lot a stages to play diferent modes and is to easy to use the menu.

I can't perform any saves because it cannot detect the memory stick. Even at the start when it asks to auto-load it cannot detect the memory stick. Does this happen to other owners of this product? Is there a fix?

if your looking for game to play with your friends, that involves kicking ass, this is the game to buy. highly recommended. same as o.g game but much better.
