Strays (DVD, 2008)

This shows that from the start, Vin was caring about what he did. With a very low budget that literally ran out at the end, he created a work that is interesting and fun to watch.

This film is Vin Diesel's directorial debut. An underground/indie film set in New York City, its heart-warming and contemporary. Two words: "Thug Love"

Not the best movie Vin Diesel was ever in, but it is still a classic. You really get into the theme and setting, making this movie very enjoyable!

what i love about this movie, is that you get a an eye-full of what New York City was like pre-911 for young adults. i liked the fact that the actors, in the movie where not all hyped up. when the movie was filmed none of them had a single movie premiere. they all were young people who had a dream, and where willing to do anything to obtain it.
my favorite thing about this movie is that Vin Diesel hustled up $50,000 grand in L.A., brought it back to New York, gather up a bunch of people he had meet along his journey of life, and invested every penny into this film. it shows the depth of faith in oneself and those around him, he had to take such a large risk. all of that hard work, collaborative, effort, and good leadership, paid Vin back. he got his break, in the form of Robert Redford's Saving Private Ryan.
the only thing that could of made this movie better, is if they had not ran out of money. i would of loved to have seen Vin's original ending for this movie played out.
i would suggest watching the movie and then definitely watch the making of it in the special features.
