Strange Candy by Laurell K. Hamilton (2006, Hardcover)

You can't find another author who knows vampires the way Laurell Hamilton knows vampires....She weaves a wonderful story filled with humor and adventure....I highly recommend all of her books!

Being a big fan Of Laurell Hamilton, I had to pick up this book for many reasons. One being that it contained a new short story from her popular Anita Blake series and all the others being that it was more great stories from such an awesome author.

Good variety of stories.. too bad they are all so short!

this is a short story compilation by my favorite author of the moment. each story is unique and cross genre ( typical of her style). although i am a die hard fan of her anita blake series she is just a great writer; period. all are worth reading and a fun way to spend time until one can get to the new anita blake novel. fantasy and sci-fi lovers should dig several stories in this book.

I didn't know if I would like this book and I wanted a HC for my collection. I usually don't care for short stories but these stories were amazing and had a different flavor to them. Each story could easily have been expanded into a 400 page book. Interesting and not predictable. I am looking folrward to reading all her books as I receive them in the mail. It is dificult to really put Laurell in a category of writer because she surprises you at every turn. I wish I had found her years ago but I am a fast reader and I will catch up shortly. You have got to read them yourself. I dont even know which one to say which one to start with so its best to start from the beginning and decide for yourself. I now see how she got started on her Anita Blake series.

I loved this book because it gave me a chance to get to know some of the characters I had met in previous novels. It allowed me to understand the characters and at the same time get an idea of how the writer had envisioned the world in which they resided.
The character of Anita Blake appears so different in the first story regarding her. Instead of the Vampire slayer I would come admire, she was a staid business woman who simply raised the dead. It was nice to see what could have been if all the craziness had not started. This book is great for someone who has never read Hamilton, but would like to get to know her work. She is a talented writer with a fertile imagination. If you enjoy vampires, magic, and a series of things that go bump in the night this is the author for you.

of anything by Laurell K Hamilton. Never a dissapointment!

This book was a vast array of sides to LKH that I have never seen before. I love her expressions and descriptions. She makes them pop into your mind like a video. I love this book because is sways away from her normal routine. Though I am so very happy an Anita Blake story was incuded because I just can't get enough of the Executioner!!

I recommend if you want to see the sheer imagination and brilliance of what your favorite writer(and mine) can do, pick this book up today!!

This book was a gift for a friend. He asked for this book specifically by our mutually favorite author. I hope to get a chance to read this book, too. Laurell K. Hamilton writes the best books I have ever read!
