The Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer (2004, Compact Disc)

Susan Wise Bauer is an excellent author. I have all of ...The Story of the World Vol. I, II, III, IV. I am a retired teacher and I have taught 2nd through 7th grades, so I can tell you that your child will love history. The resources (activity book, CDs, and test booklet) are a plus. When I don't sit down and read one-on-one with the children, they like to listen to the CD. The CDs are so vivdly read that the children say...they feel like they are in the history story. You will not go wrong with any of Susan Wise Bauer's books....

Our family is using Story of the World for world history and decided audiobooks make it much easier to get the "reading" in each week. Instead of my reading the chapters to the boys in a hurry, they can now listent to them while coloring pages from the activity book. Most importantly, I can be 'multi-tasking' with chores or grading while the audio is playing or we can listen in the car while doing errands around town.

For anyone using SOTW for history, I highly recommend splurging on the audio CDs.
