Story by Steven James (2006, Paperback)

I cannot write enough about how great this book is to read. It takes the big old bible that many people have too many issues with and gives you the purpose of the bible - God's message that He made us, He loves us, and He doesn't want to be separated from us. The commentary brings the reader in at a real level, then simply paraphrases biblical concepts. The poems that are threaded throughout are like a summary for each chapter/section. The pictures are displayed as a punctuation mark for the chapter; when you turn the page, the words you just finished reading take your breath away and expand your mind as each picture speaks volumes. This book takes you to that wonderful place - a relationship with Jesus- and has you wondering why you ever thought religion was enough.
