Simply told for young children
Review created: 12/21/07(updated 12/21/07)

This is a children's book that tells the story of the night of Jesus' birth. It is simply written by Elizabeth Winthrop for children approximately 4 to 8 years old. The story is easily understood without too many details to distract or cause them to lose the focus of the story.
The illustrations by Ruth Sanderson are beautiful, each filling two full pages. Each scene depicted is colorful and relational to the text on the page. The illustrations are very eye-catching to children and adults alike.
I purchased this book when my own children were young and we still read it every year before opening presents on Christmas as a reminder of why we celebrate Christmas. Now that my children are adults, they enjoy reading it to the new generation of young children.
I know that sometimes religous story books do not always meet everyone's expectations because they tend to give only one point of view. This book is so basic in the story telling of the Nativity, I don't think it would disapoint anyone. I can't help but give it excellent marks!!!!
