This book, Stools and Bottles, is an excellent view on the first four steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. For me, it's still helpful to hear the same information just worded differently in a different perspective. The daily meditations in the back of the book really give you something to think about. In my opinion we could all, new in the program or not so new, a refresher. This book provides a daily reminder, daily inventory, suggested meditation, spiritual contact and something that really gets somewhat lost or just not thought of much until we find ourselves at the doctors office and thats a daily physical audit. I would recommend this book to anyone.

The book is in excellent shape and was accurately described by the seller. Great early recovery book dealing with the real issues of alcoholism after putting down the drink. Also has the daily physical audit, that many books do not address. This is, I believe, a important morning medition book to get my day started right as a sober person. Definately addresses my character defects and the results that can happen when I am not spiritually fit.

  Stools and Bottles

An excellent tool for both the sponsor and newcomer in a fellowship that all too often has lost sight of the principles that produced such great success rates in the forties, fifties and sixties. This work appeared in 1970 for a reason. The reason being that even by then, the original 12 step program was being diluted, and was in need of a return to spiritual principles, unclouded by psycho-babble and postmodern relativism that crept in with the celebrity centered "rehab" mentality.
Get this and use it with newcomers and those who are unhappy with just being "dry".

  A Rare Treasure

Speaking from the heart, I absolutely love this book. It is no longer in print and rather difficult to find. I was willing to take my chances bidding on this item in hopes that it would not exceed my maximum bid. Fortunately for me, it did not. I've seen this same book sell for a much higher price and could not afford the Antique/Book store price. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I'm glad that Lady Luck was riding with me at the close of this auction. I just love Ebay.
