Stokes Field Guide To Birds by Donald Stokes, Lillian Stokes (1996, Paperback)

This guide is especially helpful to birdwatchers who are new to the sport. The photo's make identifying somewhat easier than with guides that have only an artist rendering of a bird, details can be lost in this case. The guide is very easy to understand and navigate. The color coding of each species helps with quick identification.

Due to a change in work schedule, I've been spending much of my time at the local Nature Center. I see so many beautiful birds and wanted to know what they were. The book is easy to use and carry. It is quite informative.
