Fates Warning - Alive & Kicking With "Still Life"
Review created: 07/19/09(updated 09/19/09)
Anyone who's a fan of Fates Warning will dig their two-disc live album, "Still Life". It's got a great live sound mix (it almost sounds like a studio record) and it runs the gamut of the band's whole career.
Disc 2 is defintely the stronger disc in the set. It covers the whole "Ivory Gate of Dreams" suite and then a bunch of classic Fates cuts that we all know and love like "Point of View", "At Fate's Hands", and "We Only Say Goodbye".
Disc 1, which covers the entire "A Pleasant Shade of Gray" opus, is also nicely done, even for folks like me who were never big fans of APSOG.
All in all, this is a great live album from a great studio band. You don't see that every day, but you get that here with Fates Warning's "Still Life"!
Pick it up!
