  crowing about a good book
Review created: 10/07/09

These authors are absolutely first rate for suspense and complex plots. The reading is fast and easy, but totally absorbing. All their books are knock-out winners.

Knew I would like this book, but it was better than I had expected !! Granted Pendergast was out of his usual element, but that proved to make the book more interesting to me.

Very good series, a book you can really get into.

This book is part of a series of books involving the same characters. To enjoy it fully it is best to start at the first of these books that way you really get to know the characters. It gets you hooked from the first chapter.

Two names only ... Douglas Preston, Lincoln Child ... really says it all. I actually started listening to their books a number of years ago while comuting between Tulsa and Oklahoma City twice a week. I so enjoyed the caractor of Special Agent Pendergast that I've read or listened to all eight of their Pendergast colaborations.Recently my husband was persuaded to read Relic and now he cann't rest untill he has read all of the Pendergast novels.

Chilling & yet so hard to put down!

First off, I absolutely love Pendergast books by Preston & Child. He's my favorite book character, so I might be a little biased in this review. This book was, hands down, the scariest book I've ever read. I ended up reading the book late during the night & the way that Preston & Child write made me feel like I was actually watching a scary movie. I don't do scary movies, so I read suspense thriller novels. So far, these two are my favorite authors. I tried to guess the ending in the middle of the book & this time I thought I was right, but like always, the duo surprise me w/ a totally different ending than I had anticipated. I recommend this book to all suspense thriller fans or anyone who wants a book to scare them. & if you like this, you should check out all their other books. I've read all the Pendergast ones & am currently reading Riptide while Ice Limit is on my bookcase waiting to be read.

  Another Super Dooper Pendergast Novel

I'm begining to sound like a broken record. This book is great. Not just great...fantastic, as are all the books that come from Preston & Child. The gruesomeness of the murders, the surprising perpetrator, the attention to detail, and last but not least, the delicious Agent Pendergast all combine to make another feast for the literary senses.

Exciting book. Was hard to put down. Interesting chararchters.
I love stories about caves but I may never eat turkey again.
Interesting how Indian history was worked into the story.
I have since looked for and read several more books by Douglas
Preston and Lincoln Child.
