Terri Raines took a vacation from her wildlife rescue work in Oregon, traveled to Australia, and there, at a small wildlife park, she met and fell in love with a tall, blond force of nature named Steve Irwin.     I was given this book as an early Christmas gift so began reading it and couldn't stop. When you think back on Steve's exuberant, fearless personality on TV, it is almost impossible to believe that his life was robbed by a sting-ray. As his wife, Terri puts it, there are not many women in the world who would spend their honeymoon night trapping crocodiles, but that footage lead to their first TV episode and made them superstars. The family photos are truly touching and beautiful and the fact that Terri says from the first that she knew this khaki-clad Aussie was her prince charming, makes the book a tribute to keep him alive in her heart and in ours.

    I read this book in about 24 hours. I started in and found it hard to put down. From day they met to the day of his death with great and vivid details of their life and times. it has many touching and often humorous times such as when Steve and Terri show up at a black tie event in their Austrailia Zoo outfits. How Steve helped launch Animal Planet and the sad loss of his mother.
    Terri also talks about her life before Steve so we get a portrait of her and how her life changed by the move to Australia and early life with Steve.
    This was a wonderful Bio of the entire Irwin Family and how they started Australia Zoo and have the drive to continue to work for animal conservation.
    the book is a correct and intimate story of bigger than life Steve and his loving family. His Legacy lives on through Terri, Bindi and Bob. Highly Recommend even if you are not their biggest fan~ worth the read!
