Stephen King's Desperation (DVD, 2006)

Wow! What a great, great movie! I got it for my husband, who loves King and all his books and movies. I usually watch them with him and they're OK, some I like better than others! This one, I LOVED!! The story, the message, the acting the flow, all of it was awesome! Ron Pearlman (of HellBoy) was great, as was Tom Skerritt and Steven Weber, but the young boy in the film was AMAZING! I hope we see more of him in other movies!

I absolutely hated this movie. The book was incredible and awesome in every way...the movie was not. The acting was lame, the actors looked almost nothing like their characters from the book. The movie left out some of the most important information, so you really didn't know what was going on unless you had already read the book, and even then it was disappointing because of the lack of content. It was one of the worst adaptations of a Stephen King novel I have ever seen. If you have read the book and enjoyed it, please do not watch this movie - it will ruin it for you. It was that bad.

I know a lot of people don't like this movie, but it is a great horror movie. You can't deny the mastery of Stephen King's writing. The movie doesn't do the book justice, but the film is a whole other animal. I bought this movie for my girlfriend for Christmas. She and I have had a number of conversations about this film and I knew I couldn't pass it up. If you don't like this movie, you should look into never watching an artistic interpretation of a text again.

I received this very quickly and watched it the same day. It doesn't seem to have any high paid celebrities in it, a child is murdered in it, & it has some weirdness to it. It wouldn't be Stephen King if it weren't at least a little weird. I personally enjoyed "Desperation" very much. If you cannot get over seeing a child's murdered body in several scenes, I would not recommend this movie to you. This movie is a twist between science fiction and horror. Some parts you just want to shout, WTH! It does not have a very fast storyline and wouldn't be recommended to those who watch a ton of Action movies. This Stephen King movie is not as recognized as some like "Carrie", "Pet Semetary", or "Christine" but if you are that diehard Stephen King fan, you will be in for a treat with "Desperation".

Ilove horror movies and this movie is excellent. I bought the movie because i love Stephen King. I also love his books

Good movie. I like all of Stephen Kings work. A must see. I bought it for myself and passed it on to my daughters family. The movie is on of my favorites. I have yet to ead the book it is based on.

ive seen this one several times only the cut movies on tv it will be nice to see what ive been missing really different if you like vanpaires another great stephen king

After reading the book, I was a bit disappointed with the rendition on screen.
But all in all, since price paid is a factor..it was worth watching.Not as good as some of his movies,in my opinion..but I remain a fan nontheless.

There are certain S.K. movies that I enjoy, however this isn't one of them. It was totally immoral and the story line wasn't believable in any way, shape, or form. I wouldn NOT recommend this movie. Waste of time and money.

We liked this - it followed the book Fairly closely - some of it was typical hokey as his films seem to be. The books have such character but the films always seem a little dorky - most especially the metal toothed PacMan like Langoliers and the hand of God that ended the Stand - GREAT book pretty nifty little miniseries until that point. Anyways - this one, is ok.

A must for any Stephen King Fan. Written in conjection with The Regulators. Book was good and so is the movie.

I read the book Desperation when it first came out in 1996 and, like all Stephen King books, loved it. I didn't even know that it had been made into a movie until I happened upon it on ebay. This was well made movie and closely followed the story line of the book. Another eerie chiller by the master put on the screen. My only disappointment may be that this film, unlike other King
based movies, did not quite deliver the spine tingling results that the book did. All in all a good watch for anyone into the horror genre.

It was a good horror flim. I am a fan of Steven King and the story line was true to his story.
If you like good horror stories this is a good one to get.

Classic King storytelling. If you like The Stand or Storm of the Century, this movie is right up your alley.

I loved this movie. I so love everything that has been written by my favorite author Stephen King. Great movie for the Stephen King fans like me and for the movie lover in general.

I bought this movie for my 16 year old son. He just finished reading the book and had previously seen a part of the movie on television. He loves this movie. As usual, some parts in the book aren't depicted in the movie but overall it's still quite a suspensful and scary movie!

Stephen King is one of my favorite writers. I have all his movies. This movie
proves his excellent writing of a book,and turning it into a screenplay. Very good acting.
