Stephen King's The Dark Tower by Peter David (2007, Hardcover)

Great graphic novel for anyone who loves the Dark Tower, It lets you finally see some of the great characters from the books. It lets you see some great art by Marvel. And for a low price it is worth adding to your Dark Tower collection.

I love the fact that somebody Kept going with Rolands past and they made it into a comic. And the fact that I could find a copy without having to go into a crowded book store to get it

Awesome! Great refresher of how much I enjoyed the books. Recommend it to anyone who has read the series. It brings you back to the journey most of us took so many years ago.

The illastration are beautiful, with comic book tecture pages and hard cover. It's Stephen King. I've read the Dark Tower 1-7. It give more of Roland's life in a beatiful book. Everyone I show it to wants mine or where I got mine.

OK, so this isn't a Stephen King Book. Now that we are past that, it is an excellent rendition of the artists (and very talented artists by the way) of the story of Roland of Gilead. Any collector of the series needs to at least sek this out and give it a look. If it isn't for you then that is that. I doubt that will be the case though. I saw athe art, and had to have it. One of my sons started the series and like I did, sought out the next and the next of the series until it was done. I ended up buying him his own so mine would stay intact.

Stephen King's magnum opus gets the star treatment via the expert writers and illustrators at Marvel Comics. To say that this series is geared toward the die-hard fan (is there another kind, with respect to this series?) would be un understatement. I write this on the assumption that any readers will already be intimately familiar with the source material, thusly only the comic books and graphic novels will be given there due regard. The artwork by Jae Lee is incredible, and the use of backstory/fleshed-out elements as official canon by Robin Furth, an undisputed Dark Tower authority is simply more icing on top of icing.

The arrival of "The Stand" on comic book store shelves is also hugely exciting, and looks to be commanding the excellent production values the Dark Tower has received. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I get shivers thinking about how Jericho Hill will look as a two-page spread.

I LOVE the dark brooding anime style illustrations, mixed with the Boris Vallejo type characters,almost Art. storyline in fitting with comic books of this type, short emotion filled staccato bursts. Not like most Stephens novel writings but totally correct for the genre. Its a keeper

What's not to like? Some of the greatest artists in graphic novels combined to widen Steve's audience and give Howie a run for his money in the king-of-all-media department.
