Stephen King Presents Kingdom Hospital (DVD, 2004, 4-disc set)

A previous TV series that was taken off of the air by ABC before the last episode was shown. Kingdom Hospital has the set up of Stephen King's Novels where it builds up chapter by chapter only this is episode by episode. It has all the normal King features, facts mixed in with fiction then mixed with the typical twisted nonchalant humor such as a Nurse who faints at the sight of blood, an almost blind security guard and a surgical doctor who lives in the basement who has a slight morbid side about himself and his co-workers faults, a ghost ambulance from the Old Kingdom Hospital that taunts the current ambulance drivers, a hypochondriac psychic who is only admitting herself to figure out the presences she feels between the Old Kingdom Hospital and the current standing Kingdom Hospital. It also includes a morbidly funny musical possession of an imprisoned murderer who failed double suicide with his lover on the outside and the main part of story being the spirit of a little girl from the Gates Mill Fire reaching out for help who has a strange friend named Antubus. The character Antubus has its own twists and turns and the series features much more than can be said on here. All and all if you have the patience and realization of Stephen King and even if you don't then this is an excellent tv series where good overcomes in the end.

Excellent miniseries!! Creepy but you will fall in love with the characters!!Watched it while working out on the treadmill and it was so good I worked out longer to each episode

I bought this because I am a Stephen King fan, and do not have television (by choice). I am totally delighted with this series and love the characters, the humor, the casting,irony- really, everything about it. Characters I love, characters I love to hate,levels of meaning, the setting and lighting making the ambience move from bright to dark and shades in between.
This is a definite keeper once in the hands of a SK fan.

I watched the series or at least most of it and liked it. When I saw the DVD My wife said to get it and I am glad we did. It is outstanding. I was really impressed with the series but watching the whole thing without interruption was unbelievable. Even though I knew what was going to happen most of the time I was still enthralled. There is no comparison watching it as a tv show and watching it as a dvd.

This having been a TV mini-series, it was the longest adaptation of Stephen King's books to TV or film. In my opinion, it was truly one of the best adaptations yet. I consider myself to be a Stephen King buff, and I like it because most of his adaptations to TV or movie are always good in my opinion. I liked this adaptation because it had some humor to it, along with it being scary. I chose to buy it because I wanted to be able to watch my favorite episodes of the series anytime I choose. Overall, Kingdom hospital was Stephen King's tour de force because of the depth this had to it, explaining every little detail about the events occuring, and the ones that led up to the current events. It was very detailed, and it had a very good plot. It truly is one of his best adaptations, in my opinion.

This is one of the better Stephen King "made for TV" mini series. Because it was pre-empted so many times, I missed a couple of episodes so I bought the DVD and am throughly satisfied with the quality and price of the set. I recommend it to Stephen King fans.

Great creepy fun and humor. A fully developed story carefully brought to film with King's collaboration. As this version has several hours of footage not shown in the original TV viewing, it is a feast for King fans.

I decided to buy it as a gift for a family member. We've watched it already and have found it to be very interesting. Grabbing story line, one that you have to watch to see what's going to happen next. A great must have for Stephen King movie fans.

I LOVE this show it is just what the audience needs, it has alittle bit of everything in it humor, suspence, drama, and just plain good Ol Stephen King. If you like good old ghost stories and the supernatural then you will love this! But it's not for everybody you have to be that Stephen King Fan. But I highly recommed it even to those who may be unsure. The series just has a way of growing on you.

THE STORY IS BASED UPON THE HORRIBLE ACT OF A MAN THAT HAD NO FEELING FOR THE YOUNG CHILDREN THAT HE WORKED UNDER WHERE KINGDOM HOSPITAL IS NOW STANDING. MIRACLES OCCUR AND YOU ARE REALLY SWEPT UP IN THE PLOT ITSELF. MARY, THE CHILD THAT LIVES IN THE WORLD IN BETWEEN WILL CAPTURE YOUR HEART. TO SEE HOW IT ENDS, I RECOMMEND PURCHASING THE SET. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

I have always loved Kingdom Hospital. I haven't been able to find the complete set anywhere until I bought it on ebay. This DVD set is funny, entertaining, strange (in a good way) and made me fall in love with Stephen King all over again. I've watched it twice already and most likely will again.

Stephen King brings in some great characters. Those meant to be hated are and those meant to find funny are. And of course Stephen King has a very small role in this DVD so you know that it is some of his best work.

I love Stephen King movies. I saw a few episodes of Kingdom Hospital on TV and always wanted to see the whole series.

Not only was I sent the wrong item first thing, but this seller only seems to sell half-ass products. I was first sent Nightmares and Dreamscapes the last three disks anyway. What kind of product selling is that? When I finally received Kingdom Hospital it was missing two disk which was in the description but it at the very bottom and looked like an ad that the average person ignores. AND the first thing you see before clicking the item is Stephen King Presents Kingdom Hospital (DVD, 2004, 4-disc set) for 2.99 so this is bogus advertisement and ridiculously rude. Also with these problem the seller takes more than a week to return their emails when it is promised a 1 to 2 day response. I think that this whole transaction was a disaster and a royal wast of time and I would not recommend anyone to purchase any of these half-rate products that the seller is trying to pass off as just as good and the real product.

I love this "movie" originally a mini series. I was exicted to see when the item arrived that it was in original packaging and everything. The plot line keeps you going through the whole thing, and the fun little quirks every character has. One of the better Stephen King movies in my opinion

got my DVD set last week (a few days early) and I absolutely love this show. In a commentary on the DVD Kingdom Hospital is described as a video book and it really feels that way, it's got a perfect pace and you can really ID with the characters who are very rich and well defined. It's sad that the ratings were low because I'd really like to see more of Kingdom Hospital and the characters involved. Ed Begley Jr., Andrew McCarthy and Bruce Davison especially give excellent performances

ive seen bits and pieces of this movie very different some what disterbing and scarey all in all a good movie a very long one a good sunday movie since there is no football on.

As far as a television mini series goes, this is an enjoyable entertainment piece that plays off Steven King's trademark brand of gothic suspense/horror and dark humor. I would recommend it to anyone who has been entertained by other big or small screen versions of life flowing from the mind of King and things that go bump in the night or day.

Great show. Should have been on longer. Unfortunately was cut off right before it finished. I watched the end of it and enjoyed it very much. Its a great series and everyone should see it. Stephen king is a very talented person and has wrote many books that have been made into movies such as Carrie, Kingdom Hospital, Rose Red, Tommy-knockers, Shawshank Redemption, 1408, Children of the Corn, The Mist and many others which were AMAZZZZING!!!!!!!!!

I am a Huge Stephen King Movie Buff and have every movie! I enjoy the series he makes into movies more than some of his short movies. The torm of the Century, Rose Red, IT, The Stand etc..... These are by far the best. So Kingdom Hospital is no different.... it makes you want to keep watching even when your eyes are hanging out of you head..... ENJOY!
