REMEMBER!!! These are MY thoughts-not YOURS. If you don't like it, just remember it was YOUR CHOICE to read it.

Just so you know, I usually only write reviews of things I don't like so if you liked this book, this is NOT one of those glowing-OMG READ THIS BOOK!!!-reviews.
And so I sit here, staring at my keyboard, thinking of all the things that I hated about It.
First, and most importantly, I am a King fan. After reading this review you may question that, but I assure you I am! I'm still a devoted and avid reader.
Some of you may disagree, but, I really didn't care for the whole underage sex thing. Somehow, little kids getting it on in a sewer while being pursued by a clown spider monster thing just doesn't make a MUST READ for me. Sorry, but no thanks and enough said.
I really didn't care for how the book made Beverly out to be a major tramp. Does anyone else notice the prolific spousal infidelity in this and other King works?
As a happily married woman, I truly didn't like how Bill was banging his "good" friend while his wife, who hadn't cheated on him (that we know of), was being abducted, tortured, etc. If he had told her about his little affair I'm sure she wouldn't have come out of her coma so quickly or willingly.
I made the mistake of watching the movie before reading the book so whilst I was reading I was constantly thinking back to the movie. (I did the same thing with "Misery" but was amazed at how awesome both the book and movie were!) There have been very few times I've been disappointed by a book when comparing it with its film version, but It, I hate to say, (because I am a King fan) absolutely was not worth my time.
Do yourself a favor and watch the movie instead. Tim Curry plays Pennywise (the only interesting character, IMO) fantastically!
