This book is a MUST if you want to ROCK the boards!!! I've already had boards & wards, FA step 2 CK,Blueprints, and Kaplan...but when I saw this at a friends house I had to get it. Now I can say, NOTHING compares with the layout, depth of knowledge, and conciseness as Step-up to Medicine. This is all you need for the bulk of step 2, IM rotation, any IM core (cardio, pulm, nephro, rheum, etc.), even Family Med.
Content: broken up by organ systems; further by disease type (outline format)
Disease: definition, etiology, sometimes epidemiology, Clinical Symptoms/signs, MOST IMPORTANTLY: diagnostic tests/labs to run in Priortized order, MOST IMPORTANTLY: treatments w/ emphasis on gold standards.
Quick hits: in the margins of most pages is a HIGH YIELD FACT that may be a Question on your boards!
Vignettes: Not on every disesase, but on most important ones.
There is also an Awesome appendix: loaded w/ bonus info like EKGs, IVs, Central lines, Antibiotics, everything an outstanding student would know!
As you can see, This is 1 book you definitely want to get your hands on!
