great energy keeps the workout moving!

Several reviewers in Collage Videos (more reviews of workouts on their site) thought the pace was too fast, but if you know that beforehand and review the dvd 1st, that helps. The choreography isn’t terribly complex so after doing it a couple times, it does come to you. I always think too that if the moves don’t feel right but you generally like the workout, just substitute something you like until you can join back in. The point is to keep moving, right? I generally don’t care for fast-paced workouts, which is why I liked the weight circuit toward the end, but I didn’t mind the pace, so maybe it’s a personal preference thing. Kelly seems down to earth, naturally athletic and energetic, and upbeat--a very likeable and real personality.

I generally choose low to mid-range advanced workouts and I'd have to say this is a high intermediate, maybe close to low advanced. I wasn't totally drained and drenched at the end of it, but I don't think you have to do that each and every time to get a good workout.

I wish the dvd had workout options but no one adds features like Cathe Friedrich and I always judge others by her standard so maybe that’s not fair. There isn't really any information on what weights to use so those without experience in cardio with weights will want to make sure to start low. Also, the abs section is pretty routine and the music rather boring which was a surprise since the workout itself was creative. Neither detract from the workout altogether though, in my opinion. Overall, I am inspired to look into her other workouts : )

  Odd stepping!
Review created: 04/09/09

First, to let you know, I have taught step since it began, up until about 5 years ago. I bought this to use at home and get some extra pounds off. I also bought Gilad and Kathy Smith. When I first viewed this routine, it was VERY different. I had my step out and tried a little, got frustrated, fast forwarded and shut it off. It sat for a month. I then tried again, REALLY tried. I find it not too fast, I like fast, but too fast for the moves she has. It is nearly impossible to execute the moves fully with the pace of the music. The movements are not flowing but awkward and odd in the choreography.I found her cueing to be off. There isn't enough notice of the moves.

The weight segment and sit-ups are fine. I use Gilad and Kathy Smith a lot. This one is gathering dust!
