I bought the book to get more information about Steiff bears in general. The book has got lovely coloured pictures to help identify Steiff bears. There is also information on Steiff buttons, chest tags, materials used, stuffing, eyes, claws,pads and voice boxes. There is no pictures of the Steiff buttons or chest tags - which is a pity. I have tried some web pages that was mentioned in the book and some do not exist anymore. All in all it is a good book. If you collect Steiff bears you can NEVER have enough books to compliment your collection.

needs more photos.....
) There is a LOT of Steiff history which is good, but it definately needs more photos. It DESCRIBES all the different tags and buttons, but it would have been much more helpful to SEE them too. I expected it to be more helpful. This will definately not replace the Steiff Sortiment book which I will still needs to get.
