Fast read. Great scientific data that is rarely talked about in the "State of Fear" that the environmental groups and media sycophants profess.
I bought the book to see what stance Michael Crichton had taken on the "global warming" theory, after he completed three years of research.

The author of Jurassic Park has created an excellent action-packed story that is a sure hit. Agree with his views or not… You'll have plenty to think about and lots of action to keep you turning the pages.

This is a fantastic novel! Crichton does his usual superb job of creating real, flesh-and-blood characters, and sets them into a story of global importance. Classic Michael Crichton!

Whatever your thoughts on global warming, this book will give you new information on the subject. Great storyline using real data to back up claims. Good mix of reality and fiction on a controversial subject, Crichton takes you on a journey through the myths and realities of climate change and lets you make your own choice on the subject. A must read.

  Poorly Disguised Propagana
Review created: 11/05/09

This is a piece of anti global warming propaganda posing as a novel. As propaganda, it is not bad, giving some compelling arguments to make one question the validity of the global warming claim (though not enough to turn a true believer).
As a novel it is not so good. Predictable plot line and characters far too stereotypical to be believable. The description claims it is "a dizzying, adventure-packed novel". It would be better advertised as a sleep aid.

The real truth about the Global Warming scam
Review created: 05/19/08

I purchased this book 2 years ago and read it then. However, I had lost it while following up on the Internet-related data referenced in the book, as well as tracking down some of the research papers cited. This second purchase of the book was two-fold: 1) to continue my own research, and 2) it's just a darn good read whether you believe the subject matter or not. Michael Crichton is a master of the techno-thriller, and this romp is no exception. A lawyer, who's largest client is a wealthy philanthropist who supports environmental awareness groups, is confronted by with data that completely spits in the eye of the "conventional" wisdom of the environmental groups. When his client disappears, Peter Evans (the lawyer) travels to various locations around the world where environmental terrorists are looking to cause global catastrophes simply to make Global Warming more believable. This quick-paced page turner will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat from the opening lines.

State of Fear by Michael Crichton (Review)
Review created: 03/07/08

Great book by a great author. Very interesting how he debunks the global warming myth/hysteria before morons like Al Gore came out with shameless propoganda like "An Inconvenient Truth". Also, sheds light on what these crazy environmentalists could actually be cooking up. A couple days before I wrote this review, an environmentalist group was caught setting fire to several houses on a "Street of Dreams". Very hypocritical and crazy these people are!
