When I first saw the movie "Stargate", I was captivated by the storyline: A portal that is connected to other worlds, allowing almost instantaneous transfer, is finally figured out by us lowly humans, so of course we go to investigate. So I was thrilled when it became a series, although I was only able to sporadically watch the shows at first (I have since filled in all my gaps with my DVD collection of the series). The cast choice was perfect to me, and I was happy that it stayed together as long as it did (I was extrememly happy when Michael Shanks rejoined the cast full-time). I thought it might go downhill with the departure (full-time) of Richard Dean Anderson. Thankfully, the cast and crew were able to make it through Season 8, and in Season 9, they successfully integrated new members into SG-1. Now, I'm also a huge fan of FARSCAPE, and even though I love it, I cringed when I heard that Ben Browder was going to be part of the team; I didn't think he would fit into this scenario. However, he proved me wrong; his sense of humor is what the team needs, and even though he'll never truly replace RDA, that's not what I wanted anyway. He's carved his own niche into the team, and what he's brought is fresh and funny (when it needs to be). I was unaware that Claudia Black (again from FARSCAPE) was going to be brought in, and I again cringed, thinking that they were going to try and pair her and Browder together. Thankfully, they kind-of-paired her character "Vala" up with "Daniel Jackson", and that has actually had me rolling on occasion. The new additions to the cast are welcome in Season 9, and even though we've all heard that Season 10 will be the last, I'm hoping it isn't. This series has continuously captured my imagination, has injected their techno-geek-speak with some honestly hilarious moments, and still has more life to live!!!

Dislike: Richard Dean Anderson is not in it...miss him greatly.

I had my wife watch a episode of Stargate and from that point on she has fallen in love with it. I had already purchased her season eight last year and as soon as it was available I knew I had to get her this season as well. As soon as season 10 is out I will be looking to purchase that as well and only on ebay because I seem to get the best price and the best service from whoever I purchase it from.

Always, a well written series, with alittle tongue in cheek, action, an a good storyline to keep the viewers asking for more. Sci-fi doesn't get any better, and the cast make it all happen. With the great support of a well oiled staff of writers, producers, directors, and backround personnel, this show could end up going another 9 seasons. I would compare this series, to Star Trek in all aspects when it comes to the above mentioned. I eagerly await season 10. "Unlock the Gate"

I love the stargate series and this winter I had got season 9, and one of the discs broke, so I had to rebuy the entire season since you can't just buy one cd! This was a great way to do it without spending $60.

I'm definately a stargate fan, I've been Macgivered! I have all the seasons, too bad they didn't make another one, although I thought the last movie was kind of dumb. They definately have a following, Amanda Tapping has taken on a new sci fi role, change in hair style, change in action, different eye color, different accent, pulls it off excellently and she's hotter as a brunette than a blonde. Love SG-1 Love doing marathons of them! Can't say enough, it would be nice to see one with only bloopers.

Season 9 Star Gate SG-1I loved it because it is the finest example of Sci-Fi for TV. I have been a fan from Day 1. The series never went overboard with gross scenes, there was always a feeling of " this could be happening right now on some other world".

Cant belive how boring it is now, withoute Richard Dean Andersen, he was funy and had a good humor. Now it is youst lame.
The first 8 season was not always exelent but Richrad Dean Anderson had the humor and it was always fun to wotch.
Also hate that the Asgards (Thor) is so litle on the shov. The wirst Stargate SG1 season so far. DISEPOINTED

sg` season 9i stated to collect all the season of stargate sg1, season 9 was next and it is also exciting to watch ,stargate is my favorite show.They came in less then 10 days which was good because by the time i finished season 8 i jumped in to 9.The cd are in great shape.i would give the rating 5.the price was to me a very good price for the season.NOw the next one is season 10 .I have had no problems with any of the movies of stargate, the are all in great shape again.I am happy with my purchase.

I absolutely loved the Older Star Trek Shows, and Voyager, and was happy, at this late date to discover Stargate SG1. There is humor interlaced appropriately in it, and moral values that are most refreshing. The story lines are fascinating with many twists and turns. I bought the Season 9 and Season 10 at the same time from what I discovered was an excellent seller. I cannot believe I missed the entire series. No cable connection but now that is rectified by my possession of this show to watch and truely enjoy, show by show, and be amazed that really top quality writing, and characterizations are still being employed by the television media. So imaginative, special effects of this show are most delightfully wonderful to see. Get it and watch it slowly and carefully savor a great sci fi adventure!!!

Season 9 brings some character changes right from the beginning but the essence of the show does not change. The SGC now faces a more dangerous enemy than all does that came before combined, not to mention the usual local overseers (such as the trust, the soviet SG, and the US congress, in the past) that continuously give them a headache. This time the general theme is Merlin. I recommend this DVD set to all.

Season 9 is OKI baught this season to add to my collection, and while it makes a fine addition to every SG-1 lover's set, it really only serves one purpose, to itroduce us to new villians. It stays utterly focused on the Ori and rarely strays in my opinion. While they are a big important threat, the new Go'uald if you will, the constant attention paid to the Ori gets tiresome, even boring. It is an important addition to the set and a needed step in continuing the series as a whole. I recommend purchase to the series collector.
