Great intro into the series, a good background as to how they found Atlantis and were introduced to the Wraith

I'm a sucker for almost anything sci-fi, and this (and the previous Stargate SG-1) is one of the best. The whole concept is so spectacular, and the special effects are great. The characters in this program are pretty varied too which adds to the enjoyment of the show. Many times the characters are shallow and not well-developed, or they are too many of the same kind of character. Atlantis is SOOOO NOT this way! Intriguing idiosyncrasies make for intriguing interactions between the characters on the show. I plan to buy the seasons as they become available.

I love the whole stargate mythology, I have collected every SG-1 set up to date. Now I plan on colecting all of Atlantis's sets as well, and no set is complete without the pilot episode. Keep them coming, because us fans will keep buying them.

If you collect and enjoy SciFi this is a great series. I also recommend the STARGATE series prior to this one! This episode ties the two series together and helps to explain the Spinoff of the Atlantis show, which is just as well done as the original with new twist and characters. I look forward to collecting both series and already own the STARGATE series up to date!

It is a fine example of SCI-FI film making, and the entertainment was well worth the price! It completes my collection of SG-1 & SG1 Atlantis I can now watch the episodes I missed due to pre-empted political shows, or my absence from home!

I bought this DVD to see if I wanted to buy the series. I enjoyed it very much and have purchased seasons 1-4 (it is however, the first 2 episodes of season one if you just want to buy the series) and awaiting the release of 5 in late June. It is a great spin off of Stargate SG-1 and well worth the watch.

But I'm going to have to give it a poor rating because the seller hasnot shipped it to me yet and I purchased it on 3/14. If/when I receive it I will write an honest review. But until then I will keep trying to contact the Seller and writing to eBay and waiting for them to respond.

I am big fan of Stargate Atlantis and I had never seen the pilot so I am so happy to have it now. I will enjoy every minute of it

this is a duplicate of the first two episodes on season one, what else can i say i had already seen the 1st 2 episodes on the pilot

I like the series,its one of the better TV shows on. Like scifi , like the actors in the series and the concept of the movie. This is a very entertaining movie[pilot] for the series.

The pilot episode of Stargate was made after the movie. The pilot episode was just average. The movie was actually one of the best movies I've seen but the pilot episode came along and did not sweep me off my feet. I did like it but it just was not the greatest.

Item was received about 1 1/2 months after shipping due to location of shipping address, it more and likely took a trip around the wolrd before arriving. It's a great purchase at a great price. Thank you!

I love this new series enough to buy all the DVDs that are available to date. It has the interesting and has complex characters of the original Star Trek. The cohesive bond that joins them together reminds me of the best of Star Trek. There were stories that were a morality play, but the bond that the character shared was the reason that the Star Trek world has continued for 30+ years. I haven't watched all episodes yet but I see something special in it worth continuing to watch and see IF it is a long lasting as it counterpart Star Trek.

Super start to the series. Makes you want to see the rest of the series. The characters get you into the movie and their lives, almost makes you want to go to Atlantis if possible. The Wrath are quite the foe for this team of explorers. Can't wait to see what happens. We all wonder if there is more out there and this gives it to us!

This is a DVD that I watch over and over. The story is compelling and the acting excellent. There's humor, action and angst. If you've enjoyed Stargate SG-1 for these past 10 years, you'll love Stargate Atlantis.

Any Stargate is good. Although none of them are Excellent anymore...now that Jack is gone!!! And to replace him with a guy that was JUST in another show on SciFi, well, that was just not kool.

But the DVD is good. We never miss it.
