Stargate: The Ark of Truth (DVD, 2008)

Stargate SG1 was a long time running television show. When the show was finally canceled a number of story threads were left undone and the very vocal fan base felt cheated that the show ended but the stories were not concluded.

As a result a stand alone DVD was released to wrap up the Ori storyline. Stargate: The Ark of Truth picks up right after the end of the final season of Stargate. This DVD movie helps wrap up the Ori storyline and explain what happens to SG1.

I will not go into much depth into the plot because I do not want to ruin the movie for you. However, the special effects are top notch and the story is once again spectacular! :) This is a great movie and it is basically a season of the television show condensed into a feature length movie without ads! :)

I was hooked through-out the entire movie and did not feel cheated at the end. A great way to partially conclude the television series. Stargate: Continuum will is now released in order to conclude the Baal storyline!

I found it to be a more satisfying ending than the last episode of season 10 of Stargate SG-1. However, having said that, it seemed like a weak ending. All of the characters were there, and the special efects were good, but the plot, didn't live up to the anticipation.

IT PICKS UP WHERE THE SERIES LEFT OFF OR CLOSE TO IT. THEY ARE THEIR USUAL CHARACTERS OFF ON YET ANOTHER ADVENTURE TO SAVE THE UNIVERSE. IT ENDED TOO QUICKLY FOR ME, IT COULD HAVE BEEN CONTINUED AND I HOPE THEY MAKE MORE. GREAT ADDITION TO THE SERIES. I NEEDED THIS TO GO WITH MY 10 SEASONS OF STARGATE, THE MOVIE WAS JUST AS GOOD AS THE SERIES AND I HOPE THEY MAKE SOME MORE TO GO WITH THAT ONE-THERE CAN ALWAYS BE MORE STORIES!

This is a GREAT Stargate Movie for any Stargate Fan! It was sad to see the series end, but Great to have a new Movie!
This movie starts where season 10 ends and you finally get to see and ending of the 'Ori'.
Daniel, Cam, Sam, Teal'c, Vala and even Tobin (Vala's husband) are in this movie. The only thing that would have made it better was had Jack been in it.
But he is going to be in the 2nd movie and the entire 3rd movie is based on Jack.
None the less, it is Great to have SG1 back even if for just a movie1

This was just as good as the season 10 pack and at least wrapped it all up in the final battle between the Ori. The end is really cool especially with what happens to Julian Sands character (one of the head Ori). Everyone from the latest cast was in the movie so no team members were lost with lots of action!

Since there will be no more Stargate SG-1 episodes, this movie gives us fans
the final confrontation with the ORI. Everything would have be left up in theair, if not for this movie.

The movie was amazing. Every five minutes there's another plot twist, but it's still easy to follow. It is an excellent tie-up of the Ori storyline. it will keep you guessing until the end. Some old enemies return for a while. I recommend this movie for any sci-fi or action movie fan, whether you like stargate or not. It's great. it could have only been better i they added in more of Baal. I recommend this movie 6 out of 5(No error).

A must for any Stargate fan to finish the deplorable Ori story. That whole story line was a terrible mistake, and I'm very pleased that it's finished. Now the team can get on with their lives and get Jack back in the picture, even if it's just for a few minutes.
The movie was well made with decent special effects. Actual plot line fairly thin. I always enjoy watching the 3 original SG1 team members and will probably buy anything they do.

This dvd is wonderful,it does answer all the up in the air questions-the characters are just as great on this dvd as they were on the tv series-the action never stops,the space battle is really great and the background settings of this dvd relly makes you feel like you are on another planet along with them.

Followed well the 10 year series. Kept within the bounds of the series. If you enjoyed the series this is a must see. A great way to see SG1 again.

The disk was delivered well and even padded on the inside. Out of the 20 or so others this person was the only one with that kind of attention to detail.

This pretty much wraps up the Stargate SG-1 series and brings an end to the Ori. Other elements re-introduced seem old, but it gives Mitchell a chance to blow something up. I do really like Stargate SG-1, but I fear that it has the potential to take the same path taken in Star Trek Next Generation. Nuf said. Good entertainment and hopefully (with Stargate:Continuum) the last. I'd much rather watch the series on DVD than watch weaker movie versions, sorry.

Was more a chapter than a movie. I have no words to describe what a review need without say I don't like it. So, it is up to you buy or not buy.

I've been a Stargate Fan since the first movie, and loyally throughout all 10 seasons over both cable networks it was carried on. Stargate: Ark of Truth is a fun ride, a step up from the weekly show, but a disappointment in complete lack of story originality.

I have to say the movie was good, but not great. It just seemed not up to the excitement you expect from the Stargate series and the crew seemed sort of cold to each other in this movie such as one of the being called muscles as sort of an insult. I just saw this film as an average film it is only appealing to hardcore Stargate fans and could leave you disappointed as I am a bit disappointed with it. I did like the follow up movie better Stargate Continuum, but it still seems to lack the guts that the series had.

It is a awsome movie that helps explain the ending of season 10 and it has good plot. very dramatic views. and great extra features

I cannot really write about this DVD because I have never received it however it did show up that I have paid for it. Now I have to go through the steps to get my money refunded. Should have been so simple.

Just a great Action/Sci Fi movie.
All the way around, script, cast, effects, direction. Just a first class production.

This movie is a must see for any Stargate fan or those getting into the gate. The movie takes place where Season 10 left off and leaves you wanting more. Make sure to make plenty of popcorn, sit back & enjoy the adventure of Stargate.

SG-1 travels to the Ori home galaxy in search of an Ancient device that could stop the Ori war once and for all. But the return of an old enemy threatens to overrun the ship before they can accomplish their mission.


The war with the forces of the Ori continues. But Earth (and all of our galaxy) has just gotten a major break: Tomin, Vala's husband and a commander of the invading armies, has defected.

SG-1 brings Tomin to Earth, and he tells them that the worshippers of the Ori are about to bring another wave of warships through the intergalactic Supergate. There has been little we could do to stand up to only the first four ships ("Flesh and Blood") -- with dozens of ships fighting their holy war, the Ori victory will be swift. And a coordinated attack on Earth is most certainly imminent.

Tomin is welcomed as a guest, a war-torn soul who is still coming to terms with the fact that he has done terrible things in the service of false gods. But the I.O.A., the agency over the Stargate program, wants to interrogate him as an enemy prisoner. With Richard Woolsey occupied with the Atlantis expedition, they send James Marrick to the S.G.C. Marrick pretends to be friendly and disarming, an ally just doing his job, but makes it clear to Tomin that he holds him in great disdain, heartlessly confronting him about his war atrocities.

Meanwhile, SG-1 is planning a bold mission to travel to the Ori home galaxy itself. They are in search of the "Ark of Truth," which they hope can put an end to the war. Tomin goes with them, believing that he can help SG-1 make contact with the anti-Ori underground.
