Star Wars Trilogy (DVD, 2004, 4-Disc Set; Widescreen)

I was 10 years old when I saw Star Wars for the first time, a huge fan from the beginning, I was a "Star Wars Freak." The combination of it's mythical larger than life story, spectacular special effects, awesome music and sound, and the perfect chemistry between the actors made these three movies instant classics. Being a Star Wars fan & collector, I grabbed this set when it came out.
Course, the numerous times George has released the films on VHS & laser disc, he will release these in the future.

But, I DID NOT like the changing of Boba Fett's voice in Empire.
We did not need to see Hayden at the end of Jedi.
Those changes were unneeded George.

I have grwo up with Star wars and cannot think of any better movie I have seen. The trilogy is even better as it has some added scenes that were not there in the original.

It is no wonder these movies are the basis of comparison for action and, especially, sci-fi films. They are the best and after all this time they still prove it. They still entertain, thrill, and inspire movie watchers of all ages. This dvd set is one for every collection.

Star Wars has got to be the greatest movie series of all time!!! There is so much excitement and action. All I can say is OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who doesnt love starwars movies?These are absolutely classic and the fact they were written so someone else could write the beginning trilogy was genius.

This set is a must-have for any Star Wars fan. This trilogy brings Episodes 4,5,6 together on one DVD set. There are lots of extras and the screen quality is great. Some changes have been made in the films that some serious fans may not like, but it's all about change, I guess.

I bought this DVD to replace the worn out VHS copy that I had. DVD's are the way to go now as far as picture and sound quality. Also with the added bonus material that they always add like how they did the stunts. This is one movie that is pure enjoyment to watch.

You can't even count the number of time you have seen this trilogy of movies nad still you get entranced everytime they are on TV. Do yourself a favor and get this so you can watch it without commercials and with enhanced sound, it is worth every penny.

Of course if you are a sci-fi fan, then there is no reason not to have this as part of your collection. It is a classic tale of good versus evil and so well written it doesn't fall into the black and white of the lesser epic tales.

Not sure if we even need a review here, but Obviously this is an All time favorite of mine. There is enough action to keep you excited, but yet Lucas packs in plenty of story to keep you intrigued. This version is the "remastered" version, so some of the effects are cleaned up and there is an extra scene here and there, but nothing that takes from the great plot. We have classic Good vs. Evil, with a little romance and alot of what if SciFi Glory. I'm sure everyone has wished for a lightsaber at one point or another, and the ability to "use the force". All in all the best Trilogy I've seen this is a must buy!

The movie is of course the all time classic for a lot of people. I like watching it on occasion. How can you not like it if you loved it back then!

This is a visually stunning movie, Even today. This movie, released originally in 1977 was so far ahead of it's time that it's scary. George Lucas pionerred and created new filming and speacial effects tecnices that are still relivant and still used today. Without the pioneer efforts of this movie most of todays big box office hits wouldn't be possible. This film is fun and action pact, it spawned two sequals, 3 prequals, several made for tv movies and many many cartoon series. + hundreads of books, toys, lunch boxes, underwear, toothbrushed, dog holloween costumes and any other bizarr thing you can tink of... Star wars is one of the greatest movies ever and george lucas is a god!!!

New digital effects are awesome! Extra features are really fun to watch. And, one surprise...the ghost of the YOUNG Anakin Skywalker has been put in at the end of 6!

Yes, we are all familiar with the movies, but the extra disk is the best part of this collection. The story of the making of the trilogy was as exciting as the tilogy itself. Fascinating insight into Lucas and the movies.

The classics packed together plus excellent bonus features, especially when in the widescreen format.

I bought these movie so my grandson could have a complete set of the Star Wars collection on DVD. I saw the original trilogy in the movie theater as they came out and was very impressed with the quality of special effects and the story line, that I bought the set originally on VHS (which I still have). I now have all 6 episodes on DVD and my grandson cannot get enough of watching them. He was beginning to wear out my VHS copies, so I got him a set of his own on DVD. It keeps him occupied for hours on end.

There will never be a better science fiction movie than the origianl Star Wars Trilogy. The characters are vibrant and exciting. The scenery and special affects ( for the technology of the time) wwas outstanding. These filsm are classic and great family films that entertain and excite the imagination of children. What can be more fun than flying through the air in a space ship? Kids need more imagination in their movies these days and this film delivers that.

I WAS LOOKING FOR THE ORIGINAL TAPES BUT COULD NOT FIND ANY SO I WENT FOR THIS PRODUCT ON CD INSTEAD MY KIDS ARE YOUNG ENOUGH THAT THEY HAVE SEEN THE LAST 3 BUT ONLY HEARD ABOUT THE ORIGINAL FROM ME AND MOM SO THIS WAS TO SHOW THEM HOW IT STARTED

I love Star wars and I would have given these movies a 5/5 but I saw revenge of the sith and am totally sold on it....

While not a huge fan of sci-fi, I've always LOVED astronomy & futuristic concepts in movies & TV shows, so it was pretty easy for me to fall in love w/ Star Wars. I didn't actually start getting really into the Star Wars trilogy until the prequels started coming out, & I'd have to honestly say that I like the prequels more than the older movies, but after seeing them the digitally restored DVD versions of them, I love them more than I thought I would (especially seeing Hayden Christensen's digitally rendered image @ the end of Episode VI ;)). I still would love to see George Lucas take advantage of today's technology & do remakes of Episodes IV-VI, but these DVDs are definitely good enough for now. :)

I am a Star Wars fan from way back. The original set of SW DVDs was passed on to my grandkids. THis new set will bring my collection up-to-date.

Now that the story is complete, they leave you begging for more. excellent original set. One of the best scifi movies I have seen
