The Star Wars Trilogy by John (Composer) Williams (CD, Nov-1990, Sony Classical)

Williams and Lucas definitely pull of the spectacular sound quality on this CD. This is for sure a Star Wars fan's cd. The Imperial march and asteroid field song were the best on the cd, in my opinion. You will probably be in want of more classic songs after you finish this set of songs, however. The hard-to-find asteroid field song was all it took to make this one worthwhile for me, but I'm sure other fans will appreciate even more so the superb sound quality.

My 4-year-old son is crazy about Star Wars music. It all started when I began humming the music in anticipation of "Revenge of the Sith" coming out. We started listening to the soundtracks on Rhapsody all of the time. But he wanted something to listen to in the car, so we got this CD which is pretty much Star Wars greatest hits from the original three movies. His absolute favorite is "Imperial March." If you like Star Wars, I would highly recommend getting the soundtrack to "Revenge of the Sith." It comes with a bonus DVD called "Star Wars: A Musical Journey." It lasts about an hour and features John Williams' amazing scores combined with clips from all six movies. My son loves to watch it while flying his little spaceships around and shooting the asteroids. We let him watch the original three movies, but he didn't like them as much as "Musical Journey." The action-packed highlights and the great music make it his favorite.
