First of all, the reason I am posting this review now before the games' full release was because I was able to play a part of the game at a 'special' development meeting. From the few aspects I was able to grasp, the game is by far the MOST advance and realistic gameplay for a Star Wars title I have EVER played. Much like other action/adventure titles for the 360, the graphics and gameplay are unmatches to previous systems. Then you add the new abilities to control and manipulate the Dark Side of the Force, and you have a whole new unique Star Wars playing experience. If you love the Star Wars story and want to play with the full abilities of the Dark Side, you MUST purchase this game. This is NOT one for rent. The lovers of Star Wars will be ALL about this game for years to come. By far better than the Episode III title that was equally hyped but fell WAY short when it came to story and overall gameplay.

The Good
-One of the Best Star Wars stories ever if not the best
-Action packed
-Love the Euphoria engine that makes the troopers behave in the oddest manners (like grabbing hold of each other when you pull them up into the air... too funny)
-Customizable lightsaber (you can get a black lightsaber!!!) & lots of different costumes to choose from
-Lots of different worlds to explore & polished graphics to view them in
The Bad
-Extremely short
-Getting shot at can sometimes be extremely annoying when you get knocked down onto the ground and can't get back up to do anything about it
-Not much replay value asides from different costumes and mirrored levels
-Training modules could have been so much more if it allowed you to customize how many guys you're fighting and what type of guys you're fighting
-A lot of the game feels like a missed opportunity
-No vehicles/space battles
-Troopers who can block your force powers become annoying as well
-Some sequences just take all of the fun out of a battle because they become predictable and overused
The Verdict
Must have if you're a Star Wars fan but maybe not at $60. For everyone else, this is a fun rental. Hopefully the downloadable content that is released will help out a lot with replay value.

This game had ZERO REPLAY VALUE. the graphics were hd-dvd quality. the dimm and euphoria engines were a great innovation, however i didn't feel them add anything worth while to the game. The story line is alright... it had the typical KOTOR-esque twist. the enemy targeting for this game is complete garbage. the gameplay boiled down to pushing light saber combo buttons as fast as possible during boss fights. the button sequencing to defeat a boss/mini-boss was kinda cool except except for the two main types of mini-bosses.

It comes down to if you are a starwars fan or not.
The bigger fan you are, the more you will love this game. I am not thier biggest fan by any means, but this game was epic. This game also had many groundbreaking systems being used that added to the gameplay.

I thought that this was a great game. It was very fun and as a Star Wars fan I could not pass it up. The story was one of the best I have seen in a video game in a while, with twists and turns. It was a little short but there is replay value, that is to complete all of the side missions and collect all of the holocron things and also to find the alternative ending.

This game is truly awesome. It has really great graphics and storyline. The storyline and cinematics really did it for me. You start off as Vader killing a rogue Jedi who's son he adopts as his apprentice. The gamplay is pretty similar to X-men, hack n slash with jedi powers, leveling, points for powers. The storyline is a must for any Star Wars fan.

This game is my pick for best of the year! The new apprentice has great combos and the storyline feels just like if your watching a movie unfold. Lucas should definitely turn this into a live action film. The game is awesome and fun to play.

Once again another long awaited game with great potential and fails to live up to it. Heres the GOOD and the BAD.

If you are a true Star Wars fan you will like this game. The story is fun and interesting to follow. It is fun to use your "Force" powers on enemy forces.
However, if you're interested in this game solely bc you want a "GREAT" game this is not the game for you. The game was sold as if you could choose the path of the Jedi or the Sith (good/evil). that's not really true. Only ONCE at the end of the game can you make a choice that effects the outcome of that one cut scene.
As a game it was fun but there are MUCH better out there. The story in the Star Wars universe was MUCH better than the game play itself. (just youtube.com the cut scenes and save some money.)

I'll start by saying that this isn't the best game. But, it's the best new Star Wars story since Empire.
The combat is clunky, and more often than not, it will work against you, especially on harder difficulties.
Yet, I keep playing it. For some reason, there's enough atmosphere and polish on the rest of the package that I can get by with the terrible combat. This game is especially fun when you blast through with a leveled character because the experience becomes nearly cinematic.
I recommend that you rent it first, and see for yourself what you think of the story and characters. Then it will be up to you to decide if the clunky combat is worth overlooking or not.

I bought Star Wars the Force Unleashed because I am a huge Star Wars fan, and when I got the game I was pumped to play it. I thought the graphics were amazing, and the game play and story were great. But after only 5 days of playing I had completed the whole game. Of course I played it on the apprentice level, and I plan to play on the higher levels, but I expected the game to be much longer. I would recommend this game for any Star Wars fan, but if your not big into the whole Star Wars universe, the game may leave you with a wanting for more.

It's great to feel the force and play the game a few times at various skill levels. After that there really is no, zero, none in replay value as others have stated. That counts for most single players, however, so still rated this high.
Think about it this was: you will play 35$ entry fee for most decent amusement parks and not get more than 3 to 4 hrs of fun (if you exclude the waiting time you just spent that much money for 12 minutes of fun). 60$ for 12 to 15 hrs of great fun is a good deal that way.

This game was all around amazing, except for how short it was. I received it yesterday and finished it today, however, it does have pretty good replay value, as you can go around and try to find all the Jedi Holocrons that you missed the first time through. Another plus is that you can start a new game with your already developed character

I bought this game months ago with high expectations, but only popped it in once for a couple hours. I couldn't really get into it and found it rather long. I plan to give it more time, and my opinion may change, but for now I would say it's pretty boring. Having played a few action games, I'd say it doesn't feel very smooth and fluid. They put a lot of baddies on screen for you to easily mow through with a swing of the lightsaber, but thats the extent of it. The levels seem quite large, which isn't necessarily a good thing, because I found myself running long distances to get to the enemies, often resorting to just force-throwing stuff at them instead.

The story on this game could stand alone as something worth watching. It tells a new and captivating story about Vader's Dark Apprentice between Episodes III and IV. The gameplay is very strong and is the first game to make using teh force seem natural and fun.
