Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Wii, 2008)

This game is going to be AMAZING!! The next chapter in the star wars saga. Darth Vader has a secret apprentice (that's you) and you get to go around and do whatever Vader commands. You can choose to be evil or good and both sides have different endings. There will be mind-blowing ways to use the force that has never been seen before!! (that's why it's called force unleashed...) There are even some levels where you get to play as Vader! There will be many new jedis and other characters that enter the storyline as the game progesses (that have never been seen before) and authentic voices just like the movies! (sorry for all you yoda fans out there... he will not be appearing) On the Wii there is also a 2 player lightsaber fight that players can have and you can pick over 20 different characters. Each character has different strengths and weaknesses helping to fit your playing style. Another one of the great things about this game is the fact that unlike Legend of Zelda (which the controls for were kind of disappointing, because no matter how you swung the wiimote he automatically just slashed downard left and right...:( however, force unleashed when you swing upward the apprentice does a uppercut, if you slash to the left he will slash to the left. Trust me, it is a LOT better than Legend of Zelda and feels more life-like).As you get further into the game you will learn new ways to unleash the force and bring Vader's enemies to justice! (or follow the good side and follow their "rules") You will learn abilities such as repulse (very commonly seen on the previews where the apprentice seems to draw in energy around him then release it in all directions) The storyline is also amazing and goes great with the movies (except for when you take the dark side there is a little twist... I won't say anything so that I don't spoil the surprise) One of the main downfalls of this game is the longetivity and the way the apprentice holds his lightsaber (yes it isn't inverted like on xbox and playstation regretably his grip is the same we're all used to nothing new). There is, however, holocons that contain concept art for the game and different lightsaber hilts and color crystals to make your lightsabe totally customizable! Overall I give this game a 10/10 be sure to buy as you won't be disappointed.

I bought this game because I wanted it on the PS3 at first but I thought the Wii version might be more fun. I decided to buy it on eBay because I was still sketchy about it and I knew I would get it a lot cheaper on eBay. I've played only the demo of the PS3 version. The controls on the Wii, though, are actually more preferable than the PS3 version. It is always fun to live out your dreams of being a Jedi by having that feeling of swinging a lightsaber. I'm not sure if the PS3 and Wii versions are exactly the same, as in the stories might vary and gameplay may as well. So keep that in mind if I compare.
Gameplay is pretty good but not amazing. The lightsaber is very responsive to your movements but when you specifically want to do an uppercut it may do a sideswing and combinations are hard when your actually trying, you'll have better luck hitting a combo by swinging like crazy. There is a constant dissatisfaction with the camera. You can't control the camera directly except for switching in and out of first-person view. The camera was my biggest problem with this game because when I would turn around the camera doesn't turn with you and for a while I'll just randomly swing at enemies I can't see until the camera turns. Graphics wise, they're not even close to, for example, the PS3 version. The Wii's graphics don't give the game justice. It's just enough to get the effect you need. But for me, graphics isn't the most important thing. Boss battles are fun and the game has enough enemies (who can be pretty tough) to keep you occupied and have fun slashing that lightsaber. Overall, it's a good game but it has so much more potential. I do recommend you try this one out, you'll like it if you're not too OCD on game specs. Again, if you're still not sure buy it on ebay because you know you'll get it cheaper. I got mine a little more than $20 cheaper than I would have in a store.

If you like star wars you will love this game. Don't listen to stupid reviewers. I've beaten it a bunch of times and it is still as fun as day one.

Great game for any Star Wars Fan!! The Wii version lacks in graphics from the XBox 360 and PS3 versions, but at least the game was released for Wii, as many games have not been. The game incorporates the motion sensitivity of the Wii and adds to the enjoyment. The game is a little too easy, it only took me 2 days to complete it, but the Wii version adds the great feature of 2 player duel mode that will add constant enjoyment if you play with friends. Overall - GOOD buy! Fun Game!!

Having played the Xbox 360 version before this, I am leaning in favor toward the wii version. This is mainly because it is pretty different in many of the cutscenes, levels, and gameplay. The Wii version also comes with a 'dual-mode' where you can dual your friend in many different enviorments and with many different characters. So being different and the dual mode makes this game a bit more enjoyable. The differences in the game allow for a new way of playing and it's nice seeing a change from the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.
For all of the good aspects of this game, there are also some not great ones. One of the main ones is that the graphics are terrible compared to Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. They might be good for a PS2, but even for the Wii the graphics aren't great. So if you care about that type of thing, then you may want to consider getting a different version. If you only have a wii though, it would not be a waste of money and I'd still recommend you buy it. One more note, your arm may get tired after a while which will affect how you play. Other than that this game is pretty decent and pretty entertaining. It allows for more of a less-linear gameplay with the dual mode feature and there's more interaction as there is with all Wii games. If I had to give it rating out of 10 I'd give it a 8.5.

My son loves this game. We purchased the Wii version over the xbox 360 after reading what the developers of the game had to say about the interaction that Wii offers over the other systems. Wii game develpers claim it is personally their best yet, as far as interaction. Definitely worth purchasing! I highly recommend this game to anyone

I bought this game for my husband for our 8th anniversary because it is what he asked for. He plugged it in and started playing. After about ten minutes he threw a tantrum and told me to sell it because he didn't like. I told him to read the instructions and after he did, he is still playing it. He likes it a lot. He hasn't beaten it yet, but I'm sure he will. He is a big Star Wars fan so this was an ideal game for him.

I REALLY LOVE THIS GAME, THE GRAPHICS ARE AWESOME, AND THE STORY IS GREAT, WISH THEY WOULD COME OUT WITH MORE LIKE IT.

The game concept is good. The game play is pretty good. After getting use to using the controller and the nanchuk it can be easy to maneuver. The graphics are ok, I expected them to be a little better especially after seeing the PS3 version and it's graphics. The helpful hints within the game are helpful until you fight the "bosses" at the end of the level. They end up giving you advice that doesn't seem to work.

Overall it is fun. Better graphics and "boss" play would make it great.

In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, you grab your trusty controller and wave it around, causing your onscreen counterpart to swing his lightsaber. If you're a Star Wars fan--and a Wii owner--you've undoubtedly anticipated this opportunity, though in this instance, it's a better idea than it is a real mechanic. Any type of flailing will do, so the direction of your swings won't really matter, and saber combat boils down to repetitive arm waving. When you throw in a variety of force powers and some poorly implemented quick-time events that all utilize motion controls, you'll find that Force Unleashed is possibly the most waggle-heavy action game available on the system, a distinction that seems fun for the first hour or so, only to quickly lose its appeal. Fortunately, all that random slashing about is somewhat mitigated by occasionally enjoyable action sequences that make you truly feel like a powerful dark Jedi.

Entertaining for the first time. Don't have much replay value. As a Star Wars fan I enjoyed it more then someone else might.

Great game fun playing with the wii remote. Great control use with wii remote and nunchuck. Plot is easy to follow.

This is a GREAT game and we have had a lot of fun playing it. We have won the game and it is still fun. Highly recommended for anyone who likes Star Wars. We are looking forward to the next in this series.

This game is packed with action and give you a work out at the same time. It brings a hole new demension to the stars wars style games. The battle is a lot of fun. The only thing that I would change is the length of the game. It seemed like it went fast. Very good game.
