Review created: 08/14/06

The Galactic Empire has been beaten once, but you’ve only just begun. You are Rookie One, and you must completely crush the evil empire from the cockpit of your T16 Skyhopper. You’ll first fly a training run through Beggar’s Canyon, and then have your first space battle against TIE Fighters deep in space. The giant AT-ATs are on the attack again and you’ll fight them over the icy landscape of Hoth. Your squad of fighters will then do the trench run over the Death Star, to kill Vader and his gang

Pros:
Some of the graphics are good, sound

Cons:
Some of the graphics are terrible,FMV game, controls, story changes...

Given that it is probably the most loved series of movies of all time, naturally there have been countless games based on the original Star Wars Trilogy, accross almost every format going, by countless companies. The ill-fated 32X recieved the wonderful Star Wars Arcade, and the CD recieved a port of the PC game Rebel Assault. I recall Rebel Assault being quite popular on the PC, and playing it...

A nice try, but Sega CD needs desperate help.

Pros:
Good graphics for Sega CD.

Cons:
Boring gameplay, outrageously confusing graphics sometimes, and bad control.

When Sega began a new campaign for SEGA CD showing off a selection of new games that they were confident would reaffirm the fact that SEGA CD meant business, Star Wars Rebel Assault was one of the few that dazzled viewers in all the magazines with these awesome FMV shots of Darth Vader and big 3-D battles across the death star. Seriously, when I saw those shots, I was still a very young tot. I was among the many naive little boys who always believed "the boy who cried wolf" that IS Sega themselves. Sadly, I never got a hold of a copy, and ya know what? I never did until just 3 years ago, long.
