A review of Star Wars Legacy: Betrayal.
Betrayal is the first book of a new 9 book story arch and
it is written by Aaron Allston. It is a hardcover book that
was released by Del Rey Books. This book takes places 40
years after the battle of Yavin.
The story starts off with Jacen Solo and his "unofficial"
learner Ben Skywalker. They are off to investigate a possible
weapons factory that is illegally making proton torpedo's for
an unnamed world. The story takes off right from that point
as we find out the weapons are being made.
The action is great and the story introduces a number of new
characters. It is also very character driven as we get to
see the conflict between The Galactic Alliance and that
unnamed world (Corellia) unfold.
We also get to watch the hardening of Jacen Solo as he starts
to walk the path of his grandfather, Anakin Skywalker (or
Darth Vader).
All in all this is an excellent start to a new 9 book series!
There is plenty of jedi and lightsabre battles! Also, the
exploration of character development along with the idea
of a galactic civil war the likes as we have seen in the movies
is wild! I am very excited and waiting for each book in the
series.
Go Jacen Go. Watching you turn evil is so much nicer then
watching you waffle around and whine like you did through
most of the New Jedi Order series!
