  Still worth playing in 2007!

This game came out in 2003. I had played kotr 2 and loved it. I hesitated for over 1 year to get this game. I figured it would have out dated graphics and that the game play and story line would be out dated.I am not a star wars fan and still loved it! I finaly got the game in july 07. I cant believe i waited so long to get this game. It has a great story line and great game play. The graphics were equivelent to kotr 2 and still look good compared to 2006/2007 standards.(excluding far cry and crysis of course.

You can also get this game in the "star wars best of pc".IF you have any doubts about getting this game, you wont be disapointed. You can upgrade your armor and weapons. There are lots of attributes etc to level up.I know i mentioned it, but the story line is fantastic! With the game updates i can play at 1280x1024 on my 19" monitor. It is a nice long game. I have played kotr 2 through twice and this game still took me 32 hours to beat (in game counter).

Though the game play isn't traditional, it takes nothing away from the game. The situations that occur, and the solutions that you choose, change the story of the game, which makes for great replay value. The graphics which maybe considered dated, are still high quality. I personally played this game several times over.

KOTOR is a few years old but if you didn't know that you'd think it just came out. The gameplay is awsome and the storyline is so immersive you'd think you're living through the advantures. Variable outcomes let you choose which side of the force you're on. Great replay value, you can play the game multiple times and each time the experiance is different. An awsome way to get into the Star Wars and explore new and exiting things not seen in the movies.

This game, while not a current game is very entertaining and has a fairly high replay value. With your choices guiding the road your party takes, every time can be differnt.

If you like role playing games, this is top notch. I'm on my second time through and finding all sorts of new storylines. Sometimes getting around can seem stalled but not often. Provides 50+ hours of entertainment to finish one time through. Hangs occasionally but not much considering the scope of the program.

The game is great! I had a problem when I tried to use anti-aliasing which would crash the game randomly or when there was an explosion so I had to turn it off. That is the only complaint I have.

Give your life over to the force! That is if you buy this game. I'm not the most avid gamer in the world, and mostly I was looking for a good Star Wars game. I actually bought this before reading all the other reviews. Man, what an engrossing, addictive game! It's just crazy. One more hour... just one more hour... (3 to 4 hours later) just one more hour....

Enough said...

This is my all-time favorite RPG video game. It's terrific. You don't have to be a big Star Wars fan to enjoy it either (although it does help). It's incredibly detailed, and there are a lot of very amusing conversation options that could lead you Light Side or Dark Side. I definitely recommend this game.

  Excellent RPG

I found this game to be one of the better RPG games out there. The rewards it earned as game of the year were on the money. It is as much a cinematic experience as just a fun game to play. The characters are interesting, and the story line keeps the game moving forward as battles/encounters are meaningful and not just an excuse to whip out the light saber. I think one of the best features of the game are the music and sound effects. Just like the Star Wars movies. If you're looking for a good RPG in this genre, I highly recommend this game.

Ridiculous depth and polish make this game awesome.
Review created: 11/03/09

For every thousand awful scripts and mechanical dialogue, one game emerges that tells us everything is going to be alright. This is that game. Every single tiny piece of dialogue (aside from your own) is fully voiced by tremendous voice actors. Even the fish-like Selkath people of Manaan have their language fully realized in the game (with subtitles, of course). In one sequence, a kid who made up her own language appears in the game and you have to learn to communicate with her. Even that has voice acting. Thankfully, the script itself is always engaging and realistic. Even asking different characters exactly the same question never results in the same answer. This makes for such immersion that you actually identify with certain characters based on your personality in real life. All nine possible party members have unique and worthwhile backstories that you learn about as the game progresses. In addition, the ten of you can interact and form relationships based on your behavior. Also, depending on the allies you have with you when you encounter NPCs, the story can and will change and develop differently as they chime in with advice, criticisms, and humor. One example is when your homicidal droid ally meets a Jawa whose friends have been enslaved. This is a direct quote when he translates the Jawa's message into English for you;
"Translation: 98% probability that members of the miniature organic's tribe are being held by Sand People, master. Doubtless he wishes assistance. 2% probability that the miniature organic is simply looking for trouble and needs to be blasted. That may be wishful thinking on my part, master."
This crap happens all the time and is always funny. Somehow all of this comes naturally and never feels out of place.

As for the actual gameplay, it too is very well done. Just about every task has multiple ways of being completed. How will you defeat the troops in the next room? Do you rush in guns blazing and kill them all? Do you negotiate, by using the force or otherwise? Maybe you should hack the computer to overload the power circuit near them, frying them all? Or you could reprogram a defective droid of theirs to turn on them. In addition to simple logistical questions, every major objective can be completed either in a nice way, gaining you light-side points, or in an evil way, gaining you dark-side points. Better yet, the choice isn't always cut and dry.

Combat itself is unique because you can control yourself and your allies in realtime, in a turn-based fashion, or in any ratio of the two. Weapons, armor, force-fields, mental implants, etc. all affect gameplay, and there is no "best" weapon, allowing for more variety. Also, customizing options exist for higher-quality weapons and armor. You level up and gain abilities as you proceed, and this is where the game truly feels like an RPG. Every character can be played in so many ways that playing through the game a second time is almost obligatory.

Not to be a complete fanboy, I have to point out a few issues. The game can lag pretty hard during big fights, the combat system isn't extremely intuitive unless you've played similar games before, and the quality of the character's textures close-up vary from so-so to ghastly, which can pull you out of the game. Sometimes the fantastic-looking levels can be disappointingly straightforward.

But those are all very small problems and should in no way keep you from buying and loving this game.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (PC)
Review created: 07/04/09

KOTOR is one of the greatest PC games to date, and certainly one of the best RPGs. A must for any gamer, whether console or PC. The storyline is amazing with one of the greatest plot twists in gaming history, the gameplay includes options such as engaging in conversations with party members as well as NPCs to complete side quests and solve puzzles to further the overall goal of the game, the combat is fluid and easy to learn and master with a wide variety of weapons as well as force powers, the selection of party members is varied and can be changed to suit the situation, and replay value is never lacking. The option of leaning toward being good, evil or neutral makes each time the game is played a new experience. This game is six years old but still has immense appeal even today.

takes 10 minutes to setup. Simply follow the steps below. I promise you,
this is 100% real. I will answer you on any question! Here is what you
do. Click on the link below, register, pick an account type (referral is
the easiest) and complete just 1 offer (Very important that you complete
the 1 offer otherwise your account will sit in limbo until you do). This
is not like other sites where you need to complete one offer on 2 or 3
different pages!!! And a lot of these offers are FREE trials with
nothing else to buy...No commitments!!!

There are plenty of cool offers to choose from such as Blockbuster
online, Stamp.com, Netflix, Gamefly which are services you would
regularly sign up for anyways and their all secure networks, why not use
them to get a free PS3 System or cash (I did the Stamps.com for a 30 day
free trial and it never cost me a penny and I received credit for it the
same day). Look at the offers and choose the one that works for you.
After signing up and completing your one offer, simply refer 8-13 people
(depending on the FREE prize you choose) to do the same under your link
(just post the same thing as I have on eBay, and you'll get your
referrals before the auction even ends.)

Then they will ship your PS3 System or your selected item for free, I
chose the PS3 80gb System. No Joke, 100% REAL!!! The reason these
companies make money, is because most people don't bother getting all
the referrals. All you have to do is post it ! They use us as
advertisement by word of mouth which saves them tons of money which goes
toward yours and my free gift. These are legit companies such as
Blockbuster, Netflix, Gamefly etc... You can copy my listing if you
want. You must use your own authentic link though. You will get your own
personal link after your orders placed.

Step 1: Click this link http:

Step 2: Sign up and chose an account type (Referral is the easiest and
best).

Step 3: Complete just 1 offer (like Blockbuster or Stamps.com) and refer
up to 13 people to do the same (use eBay! Do what I did, copy my ad).

Free!!!)
