My now 4 year old is our newest Jedi in Training, and has recently discovered the Star Wars phenomena! Hands down, this is the theme he wanted for his 4th birthday party last month, so off to ebay we headed, just to see what we could find. We love ebay because you never know what you will find, and we are filled with inspiration as we window shop in our planning stages! We found many great items and decided to buy this lot of Star Wars Jedi Training Manuals, along with one other set of the same from another seller for a total of 20 of this item complete with Light up Light Saber pens to accompany other Star Wars items for party favors for the party! We loved the fact that there was a large lot of these books, all brand new, at a great price! We also purchased clear cello bags, a set of 12 NEW Scholastic Star Wars Episode I books, and 26 NEW sealed Star Wars Burger King figure toys all off eBay...to make fun unique age appropriate party favor sets for a wide age range of kids that we always celebrate with. We have three boys ranging in age from now 4 - almost 11, with lots of family and friends with multiple kids in the same age groups. Usually we spend $ on common, dollar items for all the kids, but this year had party favors for three age groups, all following the Star Wars theme. All the kids received a clear cello bag with one of these Jedi Training Manuals/light saber pen + a Scholastic Star Wars book for the older kids; For the next age group, the kids received the same clear cello bags with the Jedi Training Manuals and a new Star Wars burger king figure toy, which made up the bulk of the favors. For the 3 and under kids, they received bubbles and a Plush Star Wars burger king figure new in the bag. It worked out well using the clear cello bags, as the few girls could see the Star Wars figure toys and pick out the princesses and "girly" figures, while the boys could pick out their favorite figures as well. The party favors were a huge hit and everyone loved them! Each complete party favor bag only cost us a total of around $2, and it looked like we spent much more than we really did, thanks to ebay! In addition, I have a 1/2 sheet baking pan and now make our own birthday cakes, and I used some of my son's favorite characters from the Burger King Star Wars figures to use as cake decorations! It also really worked out great that that the U.S. Post Office just released the new Star Wars stamps, so we used them on our invitations and the post master gave my son the C-3PO & R2-D2 stand up cut outs promoting the stamps, which we added a Happy Birthday to and used as a table center piece, and he gave him the promotional stamp poster which we also hung as party decoration! I also purchased off ebay a great lot of Star Wars party items...plates, hats, blow outs, invitations, etc. and was sad to see the seller of this great lot is no longer a register user on ebay. What I really love about ebay is the fact that you can still find these great items, many discontinued and no longer available through general retail, at a great price! The Force was definitely with us, as my son had the BEST BIRTHDAY ever and all the Jedi Masters young and old had a wonderful time!
