I love Star Wars movies. I watch them all the time. I always feel excited to see the original trilogy now that I've seen the new films. Its not just nostalgia but when you grow up with these older movies, you feel like they are most special to you. The new movies were written to weave in and include as much of the original storylines as possible and that shows how importrant this first film is. A New Hope really defines what a viewer can expect from the entire film saga. Older viewers like me can still feel the energy it contains.

This is a visually stunning movie, Even today. This movie, released originally in 1977 was so far ahead of it's time that it's scary. George Lucas pionerred and created new filming and speacial effects tecnices that are still relivant and still used today. Without the pioneer efforts of this movie most of todays big box office hits wouldn't be possible. This film is fun and action pact, it spawned two sequals, 3 prequals, several made for tv movies and many many cartoon series. + hundreads of books, toys, lunch boxes, underwear, toothbrushed, dog holloween costumes and any other bizarr thing you can tink of... Star wars is one of the greatest movies ever and george lucas is a god!!!

This was the first Star Wars movie to hit theaters and it was great! It stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and the voice of James Earl Jones as Darth Vader. The galaxy is at war, the Rebellion is trying to destroy the Empire and stop it's horrible rein on the galaxy. It is a very good start to the Saga!

we bought this for a boy that absolutely loves Star Wars. He was so excited when he saw it. This is a great movie for small boys who love action.

The movie is still as entertaining as when I saw as a kid. The new scenes added some nice flavor to the movie and were well done. My son really enjoyed being able to watch it with me and there is nothing is the movie that I did not feel okay about him viewing, he is six. This movie is still a classic.

I'm huge fan of Star Wars and all series & movies of Star Trek.. Star Wars are amazing story lines ..

I already had the entire collection (1-6) of Star Wars saga, but unfortunately the IV I had was a full-screen edition, and now that I have a widescreen TV, I gave the old full-screen version to a friend and bought this WS Special Edition to match the rest of my saga... and I'm a happy camper! The experience is MUCH better to view & enjoy. I recommend a widescreen LCD to EVERYONE out there, and it doesn't have to be a 42" or bigger -- even the 27"-36" models are WAY BETTER than standard 4:3 format TVs! Now go out and buy one that's at least a 480p resolution... NOW! Go, do it!

I bought the trilogy for my great-grandson. However, I saw it years ago and loved it - the characters and symbology.

i like it so very munch it so nice to the have parts of the movie that i have not seen before and in the full they show the guy standing by luke father

The Star War IV movie was great and enjoyed by the young and old. Grandkids have watched it several times. I would recommend it for all ages.

If you are from a more recent generation, saw only the Star Wars prequels like "The Phantom Menace" or "Attack of the Clones", you are missing a lot. Even if you enjoyed these films, you may be wondering as to why Star Wars is so popular. What is the big deal? Why were so many people excited or interested every time a new Star Wars movie was released to theaters? Buy this DVD of the original movie from 1977. At least, rent it first. You will be likely to want to own it if you do the latter. Recent years it became known as "Episode IV A New Hope.” This is the one that started it all. Before this movie premiered in 1977, there was no such thing as “Star Wars.“ Also, catch "Episode V The Empire Strikes Back." You may very well consider these two movies some of the best movies you have ever seen! Even if you are not a science fiction fan. To complete the story, you will want to see “Episode VI Return of the Jedi.” Then you will see what all the excitement was, and still is, all about. I bought this DVD because it packaged the newly digitally remastered and revamped edition of "Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope" and the original non-remastered theatrical release simply known as "Star Wars." I like the remastered, but also wanted the original. You will like either one.

The DVD came quickly and unopened as advertised. Would purchase again from this seller. I bought this for my 3 year old grandson who is just becoming acquainted with this epic. Looking now for "The Return of The Jedi", which I believe is the 2nd released Star Wars movie.

The purchase of this DVD on ebay, inclusive of airmail postage to Singapore from US is cheaper than what I can get over here.

This DVD is on my wish list as a Star Wars fan, however I suspect that the custom will check on the content when it is stated DVD on the package.

So for overseas buyers buying DVD from US or UK, don't expect to get a sealed item.

Whats not to like. Its an epic tale of a boy frustrated by his mundane life with a itching intuition that there is something more out there for him. So he ends up finding a teacher, who teaches him the way of the force...the story unfolds from there. It a story of love, of life, of tyranny, and of heroism. A must see classic!

Star Wars, I've seen the 4th, 5th & 6th Episodes a hundred times. My sons grew up with Star Wars and my grandsons are growing up with Star Wars. Star Wars lives forever.

The quality of the DVD is excellent. The movie is excellent. I got a great deal on this DVD.
