Star Wars Battlefront II (Xbox, 2005)

The follow-up to the highly successful Battlefronts, this edition carries a few extras. There are additional maps and the addition of the "hero and villain" character allowing the player to play as such Star Wars staples as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda and more. The addition of space warfare allows even further hours of play. The AI can be stepped up and there are variants to allow free-style play or storyline. Overall a great game with few glitches.

the reason why i liked this game so much because you could be a jedi. this is becasue in usual star wars games like revenge of the sith the controls with a lightsaber suck and they made it a lot easier to kill people. also they made they made the game better by having more places such as space battles and maps like Upatu and corsadant. in RISE OF THE EMPIRE mode which is mostly story mode in the game, you get to always be the empire and kill everything in its path. it starts out right from the begining and stops in the EMIRE STRIKES BACk. i really dont know why they did that but i guess they ae saving it up for STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 3

I really enjoyed Star Wars Battlefront and thought that Battlefront 2 had no chance of surpassing the original. I was sadly mistaking. This game has great graphics and is one of the most enjoyable multi-player games I have ever played. Multi-player mode is a lot of fun. Being able to have complete control over Jedi and villains is amazing. You and your friends will have fun for hours playing eachother as Yoda and Darth Vader. The only negative to multi-player mode is that you can only play assault (game mode where you can be a Jedi the entire time, and the point is simply to kill your opponents as many times as possible) on one planet. Then there are the other games modes. There is Galactic Conquest where you play as either the rebellion, empire, republic, or CIS (the droid army, or confederacy) and attempt to take over the galaxy. There is also Rise of the Empire which, as the name implies, you control the empire's rise to power. This is a well-constructed game that you are sure to enjoy for hours and hours.

This game is a must buy for anyone. Shooting, exploring,capture the flag, space battles, and much more in this great game. i give it a 5/5!

This game follows the Star Wars franchise whith honors. Great multi player interface and very good graphics. If you like fast paced action and playing with your buddies, this game is for you.

This is one of the best video games I've played in a long time. If you like Sta Wars or shooter games this is the game for you. In this game you play as the 501st Clone battalion which is Darth Vader special attack force as you play through all of the famous star wars battles as well as many new ones that expand the story line of the Star Wars series.

I've been end this game 33 times, and about to start it a 33th time, just love is just the bast star wars game ever it and love the way the game play changes with how you develop your character.

Great game, i mean amazing but could be better but worth the $50. If you like starwars battlefront or just starwars this is a must have on everyones list. you are able to play as a hero which includes jedi, han solo, jango and boba fet, princess lia, chewbacca, and more. great game and an extra mode called hunt allows you to play as ewoks, jawas, sand people, gungans, and more a must have!

Great game! My brother and I agree it is one of the best, if not The best, Star Wars game ever. I say this because unlike most other SW games you already know the story and who the players are, and like its predecessor you jump straight into the action to try and accomplish whichever type game you have chosen.
One addition to Battlefront II, from the original, is you get to have space battles! THis is also one of the best things about the game in my opinion. You get to fly just about every fighter bomber each side has to offer. As you engage into a space battle you can either go up against a capital ship or dogfight with other fighters, or you can even board a capital ship to try and take it out by sabotage.
You still have most if not all the original places (planets) to do battle and they have added a couple of others not found on the original such as the interior of the Death Star, which if you haven't seen the interior where the Death Star's laser is fired from, you will now.
I don't want to ramble on about what all this game has to offer, but if you really liked the first you will very much enjoy this one as well. If you haven't played either I would suggest getting this one right from the get go. Hours of fun, you know the story, great original soundtrack music, oh yeah......
YOU GET TO PLAY AS A JEDI for good, or the Dark side with jedi powers to assist.

Cons
- Almost too much chaos & bots do a lot of the work.
- No real sense of playing people online because there are so many bots.
- Can't choose your hero.
- Vehicles don't control as well as the 'Rogue Squadron' series.

Comments
Graphics are great and battles feel huge. You only seem to be a tiny part of the machine until you get into a hero's shoes. Then you are unstoppable, almost. Fun to play with a friend as well online or off.

Verdict
Must have for Star Wars fans. Must play for anyone who liked the first. This one is much better.

I bought this game for my son last fall when it first came out and we both loved the game. It's an excellent update to Battlefront I. I typically look for multiplayer options, not just online multiplayer, so that my son and I can enjoy a game together. One of the best features is multiplayer locally and be online at the same time.


Somehow, the game ended up missing but I wasn't about to spend another $50 to replace it! Still a hot item and full price in Retail stores, I decided to see what Ebay had to offer and there it was! Buying this game from Ebay allowed me to replace a much loved game without breaking the bank.

BATTLEFRONT II: This is a very nice game from Lucas Arts. Game has a lot of shooting action, in space(bunch of spaceships to choose from) or in differnet worlds. Also, you can become a Jedi or Sith, depending on which side are you. The LIVE experience is good as well, lots of people play this game online on XBOX; but there are better games outhere, if you just want to play a shooting game online. 5/5 game; 4/5 if you play online.

Good game for Star Wars fans! My son plays this game non-stop. He printed out the cheat codes online and has used them to destroy the enemies in single player mode.

The xbox version of battlefront II is very much like the ps2 version which i had at one time, but in my opinion, the xbox version was clearer, higher quality gameplay. Both versions are very fun, but i like the xbox version better due to the better graphic appearance.

The game itself is very involving and time passing. It has an interesting storyline, although kind of short. I would give the replay value like an 8 out of 10 because, after some time of not playing, i all of a sudden have a "craving" for battlefront II's gameplay.

Excellent shooter game, can't wait to see what they do with Battlefront 3. I will own it for life. The graphics for the time where appropiate and still today. Multi player and online capabilities is a plus. Whish they would continue to update the maps and characters.

Star Wars Battlefront II (for Xbox). It's a really fun game for ONLINE (XboxLive) play. But it plays MUCH better on PC version (even with the "update" for XBOX360). My opinion - for original XBOX players, its good for head-to-head play. For Xbox 360 players, get it for PC instead (if you have a capable PC), or wait for SWBF3 Xbox360 (you just KNOW that LucasArts is gonna make it)!

My children love the game. I have to pull them away from it. They like being able to be all the different characters in the game. I highly suggest anyone who likes star wars games to give it a try!
