Star Wars by Alexander Ivanov, Dk Publisher, James Luceno, Ryder Windham (2006, Hardcover)

I purchased this book because my grandson saw it in a book store. He is 11 and a recent Star Wars fan. He refers to the book with his games, when watching the movies, and really enjpys the details it gives. I am glad I made the purchase.

A wonderful book that covers all Star Wars movies! Very thorough information and vivid pictures about all major Star Wars characters, as well as many obscure characters. It has been a great coffee table book and conversation starter.

When I was a kid, my favorite toys were Star Wars and eventually the obsession moved to GI Joe. Now that Star Wars is back bigger than ever, my son is absolutely nuts about it. This book was a birthday gift for his 9th b-day but I find myself looking through it more than he does. What can I say? They take every aspect of the movies from ships to characters and spell out their profile in detail as well as what gear they carry and what that gear is for. Some of the things these guys carry around with them never get used in the movies but now I know why they carry them. It's all about fun-facts, so if you are a star wars fan, I recommend this book for you and your Jedi's in training. I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it.

Our 8 year old grandson had gotten this Star Wars book for Christmas. Since my husband was an avid Star Wars fan of the original movies, I decided to purchase one for him. The book store price was outrageous so I decided to
check E-Bay. The price was right, it was a new book, and I am thrilled with
my purchase.
Now when my grandson comes to visit, they both look at the book and talk about the characters together.

It is very detailed in pictures and descriptions. There are hours of fun reading in it and also lots of learning. A great book

While I would hardly agree to the dictionary being "complete", I certainly like the visuals presented. The title of the book is misleading; it is more a coffee table book than a dictionary. Nonetheless, I decided to buy it because the book offers a pictorial view of all major characters, aliens, droids etc. accross all 6 movies. Browsing the book transports me back in time when I was a kid. Recall those times when we all had a big coloruful picture book in hand? When, as a kid, we would spend hours viewing each page and imagining ourselves playing each character or being part of the setup. This "Complete Visual Dictionary" offers just that and even better because it showcases a series of films that we, as fans, are all too familar with. I strongly recommend anyone to own a copy.
