Wow. Paramount got it right this time! I was worried about buying another series of Star Trek movies (again) but this set is the one to have if you are a Blu-ray fan and/or have a Play Station 3 to play it on. All movies are the original theatrical versions. Digitally remastered; sharp and awesome looking on the big screen. "Wrath of Khan" got special treatment: fully restored with 7.1 Dolby TrueHD. It's like watching shinny glass, crystal clear and bright! Set also features over 2 1/2 hours of all new features with "Star Trek: the Captain's Summit" bonus 7th disc. The DVD's are in nice hard plastic cases hosted in a sturdy box with a plastic slip over. Star Trek fans celebrate our franchise's revival with this classic set of the movies WE grew up with!

VERY HAPPY WITH IS SET, THE PICTURE IS VIBRANT COLORS STAND OUT AND THE BLU RAY QUALITY IS EXCELLENT, THE ONLY THING IM DISAPOINTED IN IS, THAT ITS ONLY IN ITS ORIGNAL FORMAT, WHY DIDNT THEY INCLUDE THE EXSTENDED VERSIONS, I THINK THAT WHEN THEY PUT THESE MOVIES OUT, THE DIRECTORS CUTS AND EXSTENDED VERSION SHOULD BE INCLUDED, BECAUSE I BOUGHT THIS SET , IM WAITNG TO SEE IF THEY PUT OUT THE EXSTENDED VERSIONS, WHICH I WILL NOT BUY, WHEN THEY DO ILL BE WRITNG A LETTER TO WHOEVER IS PUTTTING IT OUT AND TELL THEM WERE TIRED OF THEM TRYING TO SQUEEZE EVERY PENNY OUT OF US, AND US CONSUMERS ARE CATCHIING ON TO THIER BULL-S**T AND THEY THEY ARE GOING TO LOSE SALE IF THEY KEEP IT UP, IM SURE THERE ARE OTHER LIKE MYSELF THAT FEEL THE SAME WAY, OTHER THAN THAT THE DVD SET IS A GREAT WATCH WITH NEW HI DEF SOUND ETC

This is the best investment I have made in some time. We are having good quality family time and I feel I got quite a bargin, in comparison to the prices at retail stores. LIVE LONG AND PROSPER.

im a big fan of the star trek movies but i dont go to conventions and dress up pretending to be capt. kirk. although many say that the blurays of this were poorly done and a waist of money, i think they are great. i never thought st: tmp was that great to begin with so i could care less if its not the directors cut, but everything else looks great. the only thing i saw that was kinda annoying was in ST III when they are going to base and there was a opaque ring around the enterprise were you could see ILM had inserted the enterprise into the sceen. i watched it on my buddies dvd version and if you looked hard you could see it. i guess the bluray brings out every little detail weather it be for the best or worst.

Awesome, great quality. If you are a star trek fan and you're into quality this is the way to go as it definately beat the dvds i upgraded from.
