Star 80 (DVD, 1998)

The reason i purchased this movie was that i was infatuated with Dorothy's Stratten's Story. This movie truly reflects her life, as close as posible and tells us how Dorothy Stratten lived and suffered throughout her short life. I rank this movie to be excellent.

The disc was in good shape however the outer package was the cheaper kind - like a flimsy cardboard and not the hard plastic which would protect the disc. The movie is the original from the 1970s/1980s with a young Mariel Hemingway and Eric Roberts. Great movie!

I really liked Star 80, the actors were very good and Mariel Hemingway really played a great Dorthy Stratton. She was an old playboy playmate and turned lots of heads and was just beautiful. Her husband played by (Eric Roberts) really did a number in this movie. I would get nervous, trying to figure out what was going to happen next. This is an old 80's movie,but it is really good to watch and have in your collection. (Some people may disagree that this is not a good movie to watch) Not recommended for children under 14! Graphic violence!

I have this on VHS & it's even more brilliant on DVD. A must add to your movie collection! Mariel Hemmingway & Eric Roberts give Outstanding performances. Dorothy Stratten's beauty rivals that of Marilyn Monroe & also shows how such beautiful women's lives are cut short.

I really enjoyed this older film about many true events regarding the life and death of Playboy Playmate of the Year, Dorothy Stratten. It was a very sad tale about a small town girl consumed by Hollywood and the darker side of "fame." It was a tragic tale, played extremely well by the actors, with a very young Eric Roberts stealing the screen whenever possible. I knew of this film long before I knew the details surrounding the main subject Dorothy Stratten. I only wish I had given this film a watch long ago.

This proved to be a difficult find for me through retail outlets, and was easily found on ebay. I even secured a brand new dvd copy for my collection.

Like others have stated many times before, if you are looking for an older film, in any format, check ebay first! The site has YET to deny me from finding a rare movie! :-)

I decided to buy this movie because it is a great movie. Once I watched Eric Roberts portray Paul Snider, it was a role meant only for Eric Roberts. His acting
was superb and at his best.
