Stained Glass for the Beginner by Dan Alfuth (2003, Paperback)

Great book for the beginner who is thinking about getting started in stained glass with step by step instructions and lots of full color photographs.

just what the title says this book is great! good illustrations and it includes some templates for some easy starter lamp projects .

While there are many pictures and the patterns for small lamps are nice, this book for beginners still leaves a lot of unanswered questions. When I finished the book, I immediately went searching through the index. I thought I had somehow missed topics I wanted to learn about, only to find that they had not been included in the book. Akmost half the book is focused on the step by step process of creating a flat panel, and I was hoping the book would also then include instructions and tips on the last step of creating a flat panel= framing and hanging. The flat panel section just ends with patina. I also wished there were more examples of tools (the glass cutter recommended is not something I would be comfortable using). I enjoyed reading this book, and I think it is a good reference to add to your art instruction library, but only as a supplement for the pictures and patterns.

I have just got into stained glass and I love it. I am like a sponge now soaking up everything i can find on stained glass.
