I used the Treo 650 with Verizon for about 6 months before I decided to switch over to a Sprint business plan for much better pricing and features. Sprint just seems to work better for business. And the Palm 700p is a great tool for the small- to medium-sized business.
Pros:
Keyboard a little easier to use than the Treo 650. It took a little while to get used to the dropdown menu key being at the bottom rather than the top, but it makes sense. The red End key is much bigger and easier to hit. The look of the phone is a little better than the 650 with rounder edges. Doesn't freeze up as much as my 650 did.
Sprint has a couple services they offer that Verizon didn't have: On Demand - Sports, News, Weather - all at one click of a button Tether to the Internet - I paid the extra $50 per month to get the tethering option which I was able to sync through bluetooth, but I didn't use it enough to justify $50 so I cancelled that service. But the internet works great and seems quite a bit faster than Verizon.
Cons:
The volume buttons on the side don't stick out as much so they are harder to quickly change volume. You can quickly clog up the memory which causes the phone to sometimes take a while to think. Haven't found a way yet that allows me to disconnect just one caller when doing a 3-way or when talking to 2 people on 2 different calls at the same time. It's easy to switch back and forth and put people on hold, but you can't hang up just one call.
Picture messaging with Sprint is a pain in the EXPLICATIVE. You have to log onto the internet to check pics and you have to set up your settings through the Sprint website in order to send pictures and multimedia. Verizon sent the multimedia straight through the message.
Same as 650:
Obviously the menus will stay basically the same since Palm hasn't really changed anything with the interface in years. Size is still large, especially when I added my SENA magnetflipper case. But it sure looks slick and the case is nice for carrying business cards and an extra SD card.
This item arrived in a timely manner and was exactly as described.I feel that if everyone on ebay conducted business like this seller, it would be a trouble and problem free place.
I bought the Palm Treo 700P because I needed a phone that incorporated both the actual phone and PDA into one device since I use both quite often.
This phone is simply awesome. The service reception is great, the screen is responsive and sensitive to the touch, and the programs are useful and work well. This phone does it all right out of the box, but the expansion possibilities are endless. If you need a reliable phone with MANY applications and duties this is your device. The only downfall is the size, but since I use a Bluetooth headset I do not find it bothersome.
