Sports Night: The Complete Series (DVD, 2008, 10 Anniversary Edition)

really enjoyed the show when it was on tv and wanted the series as i missed the last few shows. i like to watch tv series at my leisure and enjoyed this show immensely. hard to say why it was cancelled as I thought it was great.

I've been waiting to buy this for years, and was ecstatic to get the 10th anniversary edition. This show should have been on for a lot longer, but perhaps it's brief two seasons make it even better. Every episode is so well written and produced. Almost all of them touch the viewer deeply in some way.

We love the work of Aaron Sorkin and had heard wonderful things about this series, so we wanted to buy it. It is series that starts of slowly, in that it was attempting to be a comedy, and it took several episodes for them to lose the laugh-track and develop into the style that is typically Aaron Sorkin - funny, witty and not pandering. By the time the series ended, it had developed into a dramatic comedy, which was excellent. We counted 17 members of the cast who were also in other Aaron Sorkin productions. We only wish there had been many more seasons of this show to purchase.

I love this show. It ended too soon. The characters are smart and funny The show is extremely well written. Anyone who likes sports will like this show.

This was a show that you would rush home to see as it was broadcasted although you had the VCR set to record the epsisode. The writing, fast paced banter, and chemistry between actors was hypnotic and brilliant in all areas. Never insulting to the viewer.. man or woman, it never played down to anyone. Great sports stories even for those not into sports weave into the interaction of the characters. It is sadly missed as is my first set of DVDs that I lended to a friend and never were returned. Am glad for the 10th Anniversary set though that I plan to order as soon as I finish this review! :) I started watching West Wing at the time just to get more of Aaron Sorkin and the same feel of creativeness. If you like West Wing, or sports, or quick banter that isn't laugh track insulting.. this is a great choice for your viewing pleasure.

This show is classic aaron sorkin. The dialogue is fast paced and intelligent. The camera shots are one of a kind. The cast is perfect and full of actors/actresses that he trusts. It's a shame this show only lasted two seasons.

The DVD set is well packaged and is a deal for the entire series of this award winning show. No more buying individual sets. You can buy the entire series for as much as one season of other shows.
