Very different from the PC version, but a great game nonetheless. This game is great for those who don't like having to spend a whole lot of time (or who don't have a lot of time) gaming. It's very easy to learn if you're already used to the DS system and still easy if it's your first game! Basic gameplay involves you traveling from planet to planet, completing "missions," to save your friend who was captured! The game features a handy "goal guide" which lets you know what you have to do next. There are badges you can earn (like shaking trees, throwing rocks, making friends) which allow you to unlock cheat codes. As far as evolution goes, you use the "creature creator" to remove/add body parts to affect certain stats of your spore creature. I've almost beat the game and am still having fun with it! The only neg I'd give it is the dancing part of making friends is sometimes really hard, but then again I'm probably just really bad at it! Other than that, I'd recommend this game to anyone!

Kids like it really well. Creatures graphics while it's walking isn't very good! Overall, it's fun!

I purchased this as a gift . I chose this one because the concept is great , it lends itself to more use of imagination than most games . It is easy to use , fun to play and offers imaginitaive play rather than just the doldrums of rote screening. I bought this PARTICULAR game because of the free shipping , but chose SPORE as the game to buy because along with the type of fun it offered, the price is great .

Not bad, not perfect, but not too bad. Was looking for more of something, not sure what it was. Collecting items to help you thru your way and thinking about what to do next to evolve, that was interesting :)
I will be eventually upgrading to the PC version though. I need more in depth, and more graphics, but this is a nice start to be able to more understand the PC version. I have only been playing for a couple days though on and off when i have a bit of time, I am sure theres alot more to the game I just havent experienced though!!!

KICK ASS GAME!!! More of a game than I ever expected it to be! Anyone who likes "sims" type of games...try this one out...I'm sure you'll be impressed! HAVE FUN!

My grandson was telling me that this was a great game to play that his friend had. I bought this as a present for my grandson just to surprise him because he is such a great kid.

I bought it because my grandson wanted it. He really likes the game it is fun to play and has great graphics for it. He says it is a great game.

I think it is a cute game. it is great for kids. I like the plot and graphics. I don't like how you can't really tell how to make your creature a better fighter and so you get killed allot and have to keep starting again only to get slaughtered once again. we have all spent hours making fun and interesting creatures. I would have liked to be able to link up the game with other DSes in order to battle our creatures. even if you both own a copy of the game you can only transfer monsters back and forth. not really worth the 2 game investment. but as a single player game it is fun.

i really hated spore creatures the graphics sucked everything looked like paper and it was nothing like the PC game and i never understood what the whole point of the game was

Those of you who saw the PC version of this game & fell in love with it are in for a surprise. Spore for Nintendo DS is a pleasant but less complicated version of the game you love. This game is loads of fun. I could play it over & over & over again. But PC lovers will notice that there are many things from that game that didn't carry over to this one, I guess it's because on PC you can do so much more. This is still worth every penny you'll spend & every moment you'll spend, on this game!! I couldn't be happier.

This game allows for creative thinking. Both of my middle-school-aged kids have a great time creating creatures. There's plenty of room within the game for each of them to save their creatures without deleting any.

The game is fun and you get to explore new worlds with your own creatures. However, it's not as good as I had anticipated and the computer game version is much better. In the DS version, you don't have as much flexibility in the things you can do, the graphics aren't as good, and the storyline isn't as well thought out. The creatures are all two-dimensional (whereas in the computer version, the creatures are three-dimensional and the world is considerably expanded).

I looked at this game in the stores many times but hesitated. I now have it and have played it for a bit now and I really enjoy it!! You create your creature and adapt it to the environment as you go along. You interact with other creatures either making friends or fighting them to the end. You have a space ship in the story too that you are going after to help save a friend....and the planets that it has been too and caused problems. You are given tasks to complete along the way. Although the computer version is bigger than the DS game, the DS game is still full enough and quite fun. Kind of like a role playing game in many ways with worlds and creatures to explore and goals to meet. Worth playing more than once too although the journey does not change from one creature to the other.

Got it fast. I'm very excited to play it. My kid's are happy too. I've wanted this game for a long time just never got a chance to buy it. Thank you for shipping it so fast. I know i'll be happy with it.

This is a great game! There is lots of functionality in creating your creatures and it takes different strategies to figure out which parts of the creature to select in the different goals and missions. Although sometimes it's difficult to orient yourself as far as which way to go(2 dimensional character in 3D world), you learn quickly how to navigate around the worlds. All-in-all a very fun game. I would recommend it for for ages 7-12 or higher.

This was a game the kiddo wanted...seems to be playin it pretty often, so my review would be positive. All these video games are good if kept under control of usage in time...the kiddo needs some fun... but diggin up bug is good for um too...:)

not at all like the pc game more like paper cut outs,cute game somewhat complex over all fun game,easy to an experienced gamer callenge fo kids,age range best suited 9 and up. you grow a critter make other critter friends and enemies all the while in space pursute from planet to planet to stop an evil galactic being that is experimenting on cretures in the worlds...cute fun

fun not for younger kids the game is great, but for younger kids under 8 it is not so easy, there are alot of things to do different and alot of creatures, my 19 nyear thought it was okay

i love spore it such a fun game! makeing your own creature and slowly adapting it is so awesome! the sad part is unlike the computer game there is no microbe stage (the stage where you are still an aquatic plankton/zooplankton) which i though was the best part of the computer game. sadness
