Excellent Movie with Beautiful Scenery,Fantastic Story Line and will Really Tug at your Heart Strings. I had no clue what to expect from the Title, But it is a MUST SEE Movie,just have your tissues nearby just in case. Highly Recommended!

Get the whole family to watch this one. Great story line.this is one of them movie's that all families want in there collection. Starts with tough times and finish.s in a sad /happy way. What a way to describe life in a small town.

I think this is one of those under rated movies that are often overlooked. A great story, great characters(for women at least), and good camera work. A story of friendship and redemption and the human spirit. One of my favorites.

Guess I like restaurant movies. It sure is interesting with all the lives of the main characters. Well I liked the idea that the movie was real and that it didn't seem so far fetched. I loved the ending where MOM & SON are together as it should be.

What I enjoyed most about this movie was the concept itself. Raffling off a business or home is a brilliant idea and one that is currently practiced in certain magazines. You can find these raffles in the want ads of the back pages. In fact, after watching this movie, I found one and entered the raffle several years back. The entrance fee was $100. I did not win but enjoyed participating. Aside from the concept, the movie was excellent. It is a tear jerker with a sad ending but wonderful acting and the movie setting is beautiful. Might be a little too deep for youngsters but I highly recommend this movie.

A good movie with great scenery. I bought the movie because it was recommended by a friend. It had a great storyline. The mild language could have been left out and would be a great family film to watch.

I watched this movie just a few months after it was released on VHS, which was close to 12 years ago and it is a keeper! What a treasure. It is a slow moving movie much like the sap coming out of the trees of their area they then make into syrup, but you are engrossed from the minute you hit start. Superb acting by all cast members. Cinematography and directing is outstanding. This is a movie to have in your library.

I like this movie. It shows how much one life can cause a ripple effect in the people around them. The characters in the movie are very personable. Overall it is just a really good movie.

This is a real heartwarming story about a beautiful small town of Gilead. The scenery and down to earth folks that you really learn to love, as the story unwinds, reminds you of the movie "fried Green Tomatoes". It's about respect, acceptance, and it's sad, funny, romantic and yes, tragic too. Get out the tissues, as you'll need them. I rented this first and knew I had to have it for my collection of good movies.

A wonderful story of hardships and triumphs in a persons life. It is not sugar coated, just straight forward as life really is for most of us. A family movie with opportunities to discuss lessons learned from the heroine in the story.
