Spirited Away (DVD, 2003, 2-Disc Set)

A very Japanese film that is very universal and so much better than many American animated films that are so fomulaic and predictble. Miyazaki's story takes you to another place and then almost with every scene that follows another your breath is taken away. The visuals are sublime in thier poetry and beauty and magic. That magic is what is in every moment of the film and makes you so hopeful for Chihiro in her adventure. It is so well voiced by the American cast that you still feel that it is a Japanese film, but you do not notice it. It is cinematic perfection and one of my favorite films of all time.
