Spider-Man 2 (Game Cube, 2004)

Most movie based games tend to be, well, pretty bad. The Spider-Man games proved that a great game can come from a movie. Let's just run through the simplicities...

Sound: Sound is good, there's some decent music playing and the voice acting is done by the actors in the movie. Sound effects are standards, considering there's not much needed.
Graphics: The graphics are very good, especially the lookg of the city and buildings.
Controls: Controls would have a difficulty of about medium. There are always many controls for Spider-Man games, just because he has a lot of moves. The great thing is that these games have a tutorial to teach you how to use your powers.
Length: This game is definitely worth the money you spend on it and now that it's really affordable, it's MORE than worth your hard (or not so hard) earned cash.
Difficulty: It has its moments, but overall it's about a medium difficulty.

So there's the basics, but what makes this game so good? Well the game follows the plot of the movie loosely. What's nice is that by following the plot loosely, we are able to face some other villains along the way - making this A LOT more interesting. What's also nice is that this game has mapped NYC to a perfect replica. You can swing through the city and visit real landmarks. Unlike many games that just push you through your adventure, Spider-Man follows the Grand Theft Auto style: you roam around and when you're ready to take something on, you go for it at your leisure. While you're not completing the main story missions, there's a lot of side activities and challenges to keep you busy. You'll also be required to help out citizens along the way. Varying from tasks such as stopping a mugging, saving a person who may fall from a building, take people to the hospital, etc. these activities earn you points. With the points, you can upgrade and get new moves to add to your arsenal. So trying to accomplish everything will definitely keep you playing long after you beat the story mode. The fighting is great, especially with Doc Ock. You'll basically replicate the fight scenes from the movie, but each with a little twist and challenge involved. Overall, Spider-Man sets the standard for not only movie based games, but comic based game. As you can see from the newest Hulk release and the new Ultimate Spider-Man, this game has set a higher bar. Action fans and Spider-Man fans should all be plenty appeased by this release.

Swinging around the city has never been more fun. You get to explore a lot of Manhattan, swinging from building to buiding. Although the game attempts to loosly follow the movie plot, it ultimately has to stray in order to include more bad guys. With lots of extra tasks to increase your hero points this game will have you playing for while.

I bought this game for my 9 year old son. He loves the swinging action in the game. He enjoyed being able to make the spider man web shoot across things and swing from roof top to roof top. There is alot of action in the game and that is one thing he really likes plus he also likes the sound affects. It holds his interest for a decent amount of time and that is saying alot.

Great game; my 9 year old son enjoys playing it! A great buy for a Spider Man fan! The game is good for all age ranges and is just like the cartoon, with the different crime fighting scenarios.

it works perfectly no problems what so ever. It also got here in a reasonable time frame. the produst was exactly what the seller said it would be. i also love spiderman so that helps out alot.

great game graphic and control wise, but consumes a lot of time to complete every level. had to use cheats to beat game.

Well, my husband is the one that order this game, but since he got it, in an excellent price, he can't stop playing. this is the way he rest for his work. in this game, you rescue from lost balloons (if you don't catch the balloons you will hear the little owner crying) to people that had been hurt hat you have to take to a hospital. It's a good game, you don't see blood so kids can play it (little violence)

The game came in a timely manner. It works. My grandson got it at Christmas and was thrilled. It was a great way to purchase games for his game cube.

My 7 yr old son asked to go onto Ebay to buy a game to play on his Game Cube. I let him surf and he came across SPIDER MAN II. He asked me to buy it and promised to use his own money. The game has provided several hours of entertainment for him and fun for Dad while watching the excitment as he plays. Great Ebay purchase ~ Great game!

I love jumping around and being a hero. I wish he had time for more of a life. I wish I could walk around as Peter as well as Spiderman. I got it for my birthday. I asked for it because I had played it at a friend's house and it was really fun. I use it on my Wii and it works really well.

I like this game because you can explore more then the movie.
You can also climb the statue of liberty and jump off the empire state building!
I don't like it because on the game once you hit the water you die! I mean who
in the right mind would really think that a super hero like spider man dose not
even know how to SWIM!but it is still a little fun to go flying because you just
got hit by the train.I got this game because I know what the movie is like so I
did.my favorite part of the game is probably how you get to fling the bad guy in
a circle,up into the air or just plainly fling them down,left,right,forward

it was a great price and is easy to use I needed it for my sons game cube and didnt want to get something pricy because I didnt know if the game even worked

I bought it for my son and he has been playing the game non-stop since it arrived. He loves it. He likes the graphics and the storyline. He also like the multitude of moves/techniques available. When I ask him if there is something about the game that he does not like, he says that there isn't.

I like the fact that I could buy a birthday gift for my grandson that I knew he would love for he loves Spiderman. And I also like the fact that I live in Florida and could have this item sent straight to my daughter's house in Indiana. So I think that is great and sure helps me when I need things to get there pretty quick.

I purchased this game for GameCube for my grandsons and getting it from e-bay was less expensive than buying it at a store. The boys love the game. We were disappointed because it appeared there were scratches on the disc...and I felt for awhile I didn't get a good quality item. However, the boys are still playing with the game and we were able to clean the disc.

The game was great, came quickly and was quality.

What i like about this game is that it gives you a huge city to roam around in. You can't forget all the upgrades that provides more fun while you're fighting crime and more style while you're swinging through the city. I bought this game because i was just plain bored and needed a fun game to keep me occupied so i gave Spiderman 2 a try.... ans i didn't regret it.
