Speed Train Your Own Bird Dog by Larry Mueller (1990, Paperback)

Larry Mueller takes you from picking out the dog and even what day to buy it. Like he says a pup that is at least 7weeks old is starting his time for peak training. They now have a very very very good TV show Called the "Dog Whisperer". This book is does and has the same general Theory of Owner training that The TV show expounds. I was training my two German Shorthaired Pointer using Larry's tried and true methods of finding out what you need to know to help your dog train you. Although I have been training dogs of all types From Siberian Huskies When I was 13years old and had to run along side the dogsled during the summer. To trying to go SNOW BLIND during the Bright sunny winters at 1 mile High around the Rim at Crater Lake OR. Then after I returned from Vietnam in 1969 I decided training and raising Doberman was the best thing to do. They were getting to be very popular. Any one Remember the Movie "The Doberman Gang" with James Garner. I should have sent him half the money I made for the next 4yrs. After that it was hit or miss to train dog for simple obedience over the next twenty years. Then My wife and I moved to Northern California where we could raise and train German Shorthaired Pointers. This book by Larry will give any one even an old hand a leg up on the training of Bird Dogs. Although my Favorite I have mentioned twice now. Larry will help you learn just what you need to know to train all breeds. Larry can get more done in a short day than I seem to be able to do in a week Still this book will make you to a hero in your puppies eyes,This is one of the two books I believe every bird dog trainer must have.
