Takes me back to when I was a kid.....Made me really appreciate what and how things are now today....Cant believe I loved this so much as a kid and now my kid loves it.

This volume is the 2nd of a series of 5 that I own. If you're a fan of Speed Racer you'll want it to complete your collection. This DVD contains 12 shows (6 episodes divided in 2 Parts each). It is not my favorite of the series but still packs enough Old School charm to make it a mandatory piece in the collection. As you can see, animation is far from today's standard and storytelling is pretty simplified but nonetheless captivating. Being an Animation professional, I learn a lot each time I watch an episode of Speed Racer. The only thing that is sometime annoying is the audio quality (dolby monaural). If you've only seen the horrible 1997 series, this has nothing to do with it. This is the original Masterpiece that will be engraved in many a child's memory, even today.
Yes, the villains sometimes use guns, yes people crash and die, but it's done in such a way that it is way less violent than today's series. It's the rythm. Kids are fascinated because they CAN follow what's happening thanks to an Old School pace. I don't recommend it for kids under the age of 5, though, and like for everything else, I recommend you watch it first and make your own judgement. Go Speed Racer, Go!

Brought me right back to my younger days but more importantly is allowing me to introduce my two boys to a show that I loved at their ages. Highly recommend this DVD and I need to buy up the other editions too...

Bought as a collectible to remain unopened. Will buy another copy of Speed Raccer DVD to open and watch. The DVD has a COOL button so you can hear the Speed Racer Song.

I purchased this for my partner, who is an avid "Speed Racer" fan. We have enjoyed watching the episodes, but what was really neat is the package the movie came in. If you press the top, the lights on the picture of the Mach-5 light up, and the theme song is played! How cool is that?!

I purchased this dvd because this one of favorite cartoons when I was growing up. Very good cartoon I think for all ages.

I bought this DVD for a Christmas present for my friend's three year old son. He previously watched another Speed Racer DVD so I bought this for him for Christmas. Out of all the dvd's I bought him, he wanted to watch this one first. My friend says her son loves the dvd. The price was good and the dvd was delivered before Christmas.

I bought the series as a gift to my grandchildren so they could get an idea as to the type of cartoon's that their Dads watched. They loved the Speed Racer series.
