Synopsis Most of us have thought about what it might have been like to be a fly on the wall of the Oval Office during George W. Bush's troublesome tenure in the White House. As one of Bush's chief speechwriters, Matt Latimer enjoyed such access, and now he is proving to be a fly in the ointment of the Republican Party, as he reveals the embarrassing behavior of many of his former bosses. Latimer claims that Bush had no clue of what was in the $700 billion bailout package that he publicly pitched in a nationwide speech and recalls that the President spent the hours before that seminal telecast stumbling around the White House in Crocs and taking a nap. Some of the more appalling quips Latimer overheard from the former president include his asking if Sarah Palin was "the governor of Guam," joking about Hillary Clinton's "fat ass," and proudly boasting that he had redefined the Republican Party. Oh, and Bush's assessment of his successor, Barack Obama?--"This guy has no clue." Latimer's account is consistently laugh-out-loud funny, until the realization sets in that his subjects are the supposed leaders of the free world.
