Great follow-up to "Agents of Fortune"

"Spectres", the fifth studio album by Blue Oyster Cult continues the sound and style the band perfected on their classic "Agents of Fortune" album, with slick layered production by Krugman, Perlman and Lucas. The disc leads off with the ominously booming guitar riff of the terrific "Godzilla" one of BOC's three most popular tracks. Other gems on this CD: "The Golden Age of Leather", the best of the group's several biker gang tunes; the otherworldly "Death Valley Nights"; their anthem "R. U. Ready 2 Rock"; the album tracks are rounded out by two vampire tales: the atmospheric and romantic "I Love the Night" and BOC's retelling of the German silent film classic, "Nosferatu". The bonus tracks are not bad (including a curious cover of The Ronettes' "Be My Baby"), but probably of interest only to Cult completists (such as I).
