My youngest son read this in school and recommended it. He was right, it is a wonderful book. It tackles the tough issue of date rape in a sensitive but believable fashion. This is realistic fiction for teens at its best. I highly recommend this book.

It is more than 45 days since I ordered this book. Not yet received despite writing to seller. I shall offer my comments as and when I receive it. Is anyone listening? If you don't get your book after payment, what do you do?

Arrived Fast and in Great Condition ** GREAT SELLER ***

This book deals with the sensitive subject of rape from both the points of view of the victim and those who did not understand her behavior changes. It showed how the victim put herself in a dangerous situation by doing the same thing young girls everywhere are doing, associating with older teens and drinking alcohol. It also showed how lack of reporting allowed the perpetrators behaviors toward other to continue.
I was concerned about letting my 14 yr old DD read this, but it does allow young women to think through the situations they might allow themselves to be in that could potentially be very dangerous. My daughters eyes are opened much more now than if I were just to warn her.

Very educational book and deals with subject at a level high schoolers can understand and use to prepare themselves to deal with someone who may be going through a similar problem. I suggest you at least ask your teen what the storyline is and ask them what they are learning. The decisions they make for themselves are the ones they'll stick with and this book does a good job of pushing that thought process.

Great book for incoming high school students

I bought this book for my EDU 301 class, and I ended up reading it in one three hour session. It's a phenomenal book chronicaling the freshman year of a girl in high school who is having some real problems in school. This book would be great for people in high school, for people who were the quiet, misunderstood students in school, or for teachers who want to get some insight into the thinking of students like the one in this book. Strongly recommended.

The book came on time and I was glad about that! But it was in poorer shape than listed. I was a little disappointed. The price was wonderful and I just needed it for a class, so it was not too bad.

every teenager can probably relate to this book. well the outcasts anyway. i can relate to this book with almost all of it. its about a girl who was raped at a party and hasnt told anyone. all her friends hate her after she called the cops at the party it happened at. her parents are robots. the only class she does good in is art. she has a habit of biting her lip so she doesnt talk.

  A Must Read!!

I loved this book! I had seen the movie, it was recommended by a friend, she said I must read the book first, I did it backwards...However, I still loved the book, I had it finished in 2 1/2 days. If you're a teacher I would definitely recommend getting this for the classroom and then have the youth watch the movie. There's questions at the end of the movie to help the youth grasp the concept of the story.

This book is really empowering. It's also very funny. "We are the hornets, the horny horny hornets.." So yeah, I'd recommend this to anyone. I just wished it was longer and the relationship with David Petrakis was deeper. Oh yeah, there is a sequel. Well, I'd get it if you like reading . . .

My daughter is an avid reader and when she saw this book in the mall she was interested in purchasing it. I saw it on ebay for a fraction of the cost, and decided to buy it.
