Spanish for Dummies by Berlitz Schools of Languages, Juergen Lorenz, Susana Wald (1999, Illustrated, Package)

I used to speak German, French & English. I have been trying to learn Spanish. This has been the best book. It is succinct and probably the only book you would need to start or continue your study of the Spanish language.
I can now throw away all of the other 'Spanish' books..........This is the ONE.
Can you tell that I am a fan of the 'Dummies' books.........They are the best.

the audio cd only tells the Spanish words but not what the mean in English. You can learn to pronunciate the words, but you don't know what the words mean. I don't like the cd, and haven't read much of the book.

This guide should help the reader to start speaking Spanish quickly and easily. It includes practical lessons, cultural facts and references, with a dictionary and common verb lists.

THIS IS A GREAT BOOK FOR HELP W/LEARNING SPANISH!!! IT REALLY MAKES IT EASIER TO PRONOUNCE THE WORDS AND INSTEAD OF A BASIC SPANISH LEARNING BOOK THAT GIVES YOU A LOT OF UNUSEFUL WORDS, THIS BOOK ACTUALLY GIVES YOU TONS OF WORDS AND PHRASES THAT YOU WOULD SAY AND NEED TO KNOW.

My mom had been wanting to learn some Spanish so I bought this for my mom...she loves it and has learned quite a few things from it. She said it was very helpful and easy. I have never listened to it or looked at the book. But sometime I may.

I'm very satisfied with the book I purchased. The book was in excellent condition. There is a CD that goes along with the book. The CD was in good condition also.

I bought the book for my daughter who will be taking Spanish I in school this fall. She immediately picked it up and started learning from it immediately! Well worth the money at a bargain price. Highly recommend.

I bought this book to get my feet wet in learning spanish. I have a lot of co workers that speak it and I am always saying to my self "What the hell are they talking about". I am a few chapters in and I can now strike up a conversation (simple ones).

I THINK ALL THE "FOR DUMMIES" BOOKS ARE PRETTY WELL DONE. THEY USE HUMOR TO HOLD YOUR ATTENTION. THIS BOOK IS ESPECIALLY GOOD FOR BEGINNERS I THINK. This is a user-friendly simplified textbook. Easy to follow and simple enough for those young or adult, and no prior knowledge of spanish is necessary. A good read, can be very helpful.

The book is very easy to read and understand. I chose to make this purchase because I deal with a large number of Spanish speaking customers and I do not speak the language. The only thing hard about the book is finding time in my busy schedule to read it.

This book is written in a way that makes it easy to learn not just new words, but how to properly put them together. You'll be telling your kids to eat their dinner, take a bath , and get in bed, in Spanish, in no time flat.

This is one of the best ways to learn basic every day Spanish for business, education, or just talking to others for general conversation. The cd is very handy for hearing how the words are supposed to be sounded out. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to have a basic knowledge of the proper use and pronunciation of the most used words in the Spanish language.

I have fully enjoyed this book. I would highly recomend it to anyone who would like to have an easy way to learn Spanish. Spanish for Dummies takes you through step by step. A five star book.

I purchased this book recently because I wanted to brush up on my Spanish to gain a job advantage. I had checked Spanish for Dummies out of the public library before, and found it remarkably user friendly. This book assumed I knew nothing about the Spanish language grammar and pronunciation. The companion audio CD had me picking up the proper Spanish accent after only 2 sessions. Even though I have not spoke Spanish since I was in elementary school, I am excited about reacquainting myself with it, thanks to this guide. Like all other "For Dummies" guides in my experience, this is the definitive resource for those of us who do work for a living and don't really have the time to try to make sense of all of the jargon contained in many other reference books, yet who want to learn.
