Southern Rain by Billy Ray Cyrus (CD, Oct-2000, Monument Records)

I remember late night comedian Conan O'Brian making a joke about BRC after he had his breakout hit "Achy Breaky Heart." I don't remember the names, but it went something to the effect of, "Stephen King, Bill Gates and Billy Ray Cyrus. Everyone who will have a job next year please step forward...Sorry, Billy." Well, Billy is no one hit wonder and this CD proves it. This is his best album to date. Granted, I haven't heard I Wanna Be Your Joe yet, but I'm hoping it will be just as good as Southern Rain. There's so many great songs on here that I never seem to get tired of listening to. Who would get tired of listening to lyrics like," Burn down the trailer park / Shoot the pink flamingoes out in the yard".
